I read somewhere, so can’t prove it’s truthfulness, but the Head of WHO was supported by the Chinese Government in the face of stern opposition
The head of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was previously Health Minister in Eritrea, a country on the Red Sea that is ruled as a one party state. That party being a Communist Party.
Incidently, the Japanese Prime Minister told him to resign yesterday.

Also the UN which has been very quiet in all of this is run on a rotational basis each month. Its chairman for the month of march is coincidentally from China

Or people just had a bad cold at Christmas and this is a new virus.

could have been ??? all am saying is it was not a cold or flu or chest infection that i had before. and it knocked you of your feet and could not breath and felt like somebody was standing on your chest truly not good and am a asthmatic and know how hard it is to breath

I conceded that Trumps use of the word Chinese in relation to this epidemic was driven by ulterior motives even though initially I didn't see it as such. His opinions shouldn't however deflect the blame the Chinese should have for their reaction/lies to the situation.

Is the correct answer

Antibiotics don't work for viruses, and steroids don't either.
There is nothing to even remotely suggest it was round before christmas. There are plenty of other viruses flying around in winter that people have had.

true matey and it could have been anything but it was bad very bad

It wasn’t from Spain. It originated in the USA. It’s also not it’s official designation. It was called 1918 H1N1.

Also, there are lots of diseases with geographic locators in their name and lots without. Calling it Chinese Virus after it was given a proper name was intended to be derogatory by Trump. He has now since desisted.
I meant to finish that but was called away.
It was called Spanish flu because Spain was neutral in WW1 and the press weren't allowed to publish details about it raging in the combatant nations.
The virus probably muted somewhere in the US between Kansas and Chicago. Probably from a milder form that came from China. The evidence for this is that China didnt get hit hard at all, so the population probably already had some immunity to it.

You think antibiotics won't work on it because it's the 2nd phase, not that its a virus...?

all i was saying it was a bad virus and was given antibiotics and steroids and now with have a conrnavirus and sounds just like what everybody is going through right now

I had something similar mate, started the middle of December, don’t know what it was, completely fucked me up for about 6 weeks, my chest has never felt anything like it

Another 159 people have died in England after testing positive for coronavirus, taking the total to 1,284.

A further six people have died in Scotland, taking the total to 47, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

In Wales, the number of people who have died after contracting coronavirus is 62, a rise of 14, health officials said.

The number of people who have died in Northern Ireland has risen by one to 22, health officials said, with the total number of cases at 533.

All bloody good news - which means it looks like social distancing had a massive effect on the spread of the virus.

FFS lets hope this isn't around for 300 years!!!!

In this case of course the term Black was used because it's the colour the dead flesh of the victims turned regardless of their race, creed, religion or ethnicity.
But yeah, thanks for reminding us of it ;-)
It will be around for all time. No method of killing a virus has yet been dicovered. We rely on immunity.

If there were not a legal distinction between an act and an attitude, we would have thought police.
That has literally nothing to do with what I posted.

If I call you an English **** then the law would come down as hard on me as if I called you a white **** or a Caucasian ****.

Saying “but Chinese isn’t a race” so referring to nationality can’t be racism is incorrect.

I don't think they did cover it up for a month, they contacted WHO on the 31st December when there had only been 7 cases and at the date of that WHO tweet also said they had seen limited transmission in families but not sustained H2H transmission. Like I said, I'd be interested to see the outbreak of other diseases how quickly and how many cases it took them to diagnose and go into lockdown.

A rough timeline.....

The Chinese authorities issued a bulletin on the 31/12/2019. Translation below. The next day the seafood market in Wuhan was shutdown.

Wuhan Municipal Health and Health Commission's briefing on the current pneumonia epidemic situation in our city Published by: Wuhan Municipal Health Commission | Published: 2019-12-31 13:38:05 | Hits: 467905 | Font size: Large Middle Small Recently, some medical institutions found that many of the pneumonia cases received were related to South China Seafood City. After receiving the report, the Municipal Health and Health Commission immediately launched a case search and retrospective investigation related to South China Seafood City in the city's medical health institutions. Twenty-seven cases have been found, of which 7 are in serious condition, and the remaining cases are stable and controllable. Two patients are expected to be discharged in the near future. The clinical manifestations of the cases were mainly fever, a few patients had difficulty breathing, and chest radiographs showed bilateral lung infiltrative lesions. At present, all cases have been isolated for treatment, follow-up investigations and medical observations of close contacts are ongoing, and hygiene investigations and environmental sanitation disposals for South China Seafood City are ongoing.

Wuhan organized consultations with clinical medical, epidemiological, and virological experts from Tongji Hospital, Provincial CDC, Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan Infectious Diseases Hospital, and Wuhan CDC. According to the analysis of epidemiological investigations and preliminary laboratory tests, the above cases are considered to be viral pneumonia. The investigation so far has not found any obvious human-to-human transmission and no medical staff infection. Detection of the pathogen and investigation of the cause of the infection are ongoing. Viral pneumonia is more common in winter and spring, and can be spread or outbreak. The clinical manifestations are fever, soreness, dyspnea in a small part, and lung infiltration. Viral pneumonia is related to the virulence of the virus, the route of infection, and the age and immune status of the host. Viruses that cause viral pneumonia are common with influenza viruses, others are parainfluenza viruses, cytomegaloviruses, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, and coronaviruses. Confirmation depends on pathogenic tests, including virus isolation, serological tests, and viral antigen and nucleic acid tests. The disease is preventable and controllable, and indoor air circulation is prevented to prevent public places and closed places where there is no air circulation. People can wear masks when going out. Symptomatic treatment is the main clinical practice, and bed rest is required. If you have the above symptoms, especially the persistent fever, you should go to the medical institution in time.

The first bulletin from the WHO...... by this time there had been 47 cases and 1 death. Less than 2 weeks after the above notice.

Public Health Response
China's National Health Commission has deployed a group of experts to Wuhan City to support the local response.

National authorities have reported the following response measures:

  • A total of 763 close contacts including healthcare workers, have been identified and followed up and no additional cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been identified;
  • The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission carried out active case finding, and retrospective investigations of the current cluster of patients have been completed
  • The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market has been temporarily closed to carry out environmental sanitation and disinfection;
  • Public risk communication activities have been carried out to improve public awareness and adoption of self-protection measures.
WHO is closely monitoring the situation and is in regular contact with national authorities in China to provide support required. Technical guidance on novel coronavirus has been developed and will continue to be updated as additional information is available.

WHO risk assessment
To date, investigations are still under way to assess the full extent of the outbreak.

Wuhan city is a major domestic and international transport hub. To date, there have been no reported cases outside of Wuhan City.

More comprehensive information and ongoing investigations are also required to better understand the epidemiology, clinical picture, source, modes of transmission, and extent of infection; as well as the countermeasures implemented.

WHO advice
Based on information provided by national authorities, WHO’s recommendations on public health measures and surveillance for novel coronaviruses apply.

WHO does not recommend any specific health measures for travellers. In case of symptoms suggestive of respiratory illness either during or after travel, travellers are encouraged to seek medical attention and share travel history with their healthcare provider. Travel guidance has been updated.

WHO advises against the application of any travel or trade restrictions on China based on the information currently available on this event.

From the BBC....Doctor Li the doctor initially castigated by Chinese officials.

.
Dr Li was working at the centre of the outbreak in December when he noticed seven cases of a virus that he thought looked like Sars - the virus that led to a global epidemic in 2003. The cases were thought to come from the Huanan Seafood market in Wuhan and the patients were in quarantine in his hospital.
On 30 December he sent a message to fellow doctors in a chat group warning them about the outbreak and advising they wear protective clothing to avoid infection.

What Dr Li didn't know then was that the disease that had been discovered was an entirely new coronavirus.

The problem is that 1 person in the world had this on 17 November. 2 months later hundreds of thousands has it and 60m people were in lockdown to stop the spread.

If you had this virus in November, you would have given it to a minimum of 3 other people. And they'd have gotten ill and given it to 3 people. And so on and so on.

And if that happened, people would have been dying of pneumonia at an unprecedented rate in the UK in November, which didn't happen.

It is so infectious and so abnormal that it only took a few dozen cases in one province in China for the Chinese authorities to notice it was abnormal, research it and tell WHO they'd found a new virus.

it's just not possible that you had it in December, or anyone else who says they thought they got it before the pandemic because they had a rough flu.
