Country needs and deserves competent leaders in all parties, now more than ever, and it also needs leaders that can put the country's survival ahead of all party preferences and party squabbles. Wish him and all well in that task and pray that they can cooperate and collaborate to that end.

The reason being, that after Labour has been in, many of them aren't working, no matter what class they are.Working class Tories belittling the result yet they live in a world of voting for a party that decides how much lube they are allowed to use before fucking them over again and again and again. So lube is well down the list of priorities if you're living on the dole.

The country needs a decent opposition more than ever. I’m not sure this will be it. I still think a lot of people will struggle to vote Labour while Corbyn, McDonnell, Burgon, and the class of 2019 are still in the party but we will see.

His credentials are actually more "working class" than the former leader, who grew up in a Manor House and went to fed-paying schools. Starmer's father was a toolmaker & his mother a nurse. They lived in South London, not in the country like Corbyn. And he made his money by being very good at what he does, which was being a barrister.So a knight and multi millionaire QC leading the Labour Party, his working class credentials for the modern Labour Party are impeccable!!
And his wife's family is Jewish...haha.
And with his wife (and therefore his children) being Jewish, hopefully he'll take some real action against that rat's nest of racists that Corbyn encouraged. Starting with nutters like Willsman on the NEC.

I'm not sure, but think I read it somewhere, if it's true his background may not be so working class.

Compared to other candidates this is a good selection for labour. Big job as the Corbynites are so loyal to Jezza.

This seems bizarre to say, but Brexit isn’t going to be at the forefront of peoples’ minds for quite some time.
Whoever they appointed couldn’t be as socialist as Boris is currently forced to be.
People might cotton on to the fact that socialist policies have to form part of any government’s ideology and be more accepting of a few more once this pandemic finishes.

Tbh I would be surprised if brexit now happened. The western world is in a bit of a mess and the EU has been completely sidelined and made irrelevant by events. Will be surprised if it survived at least in its present form. So you could be right that Brexit might not be an issue for Starmer.
