Keir Starmer

If you are infering to the comments made on flag waving simpletons then she is guilty but lets not forget what our newly elected PM said about Liverpool

Johnson prompted widespread indignation in the city in 2004 when the Spectator accused the city of wallowing in “victim status” over the murder of” Ken Bigley in Iraq and the 1989 Hillsborough football stadium disaster.
and then

Boris Johnson described the children of single mothers as “ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate” in a newly unearthed article which Labour has claimed shows the prime minister’s “dark-age” attitudes towards women.

If that's not sneering then I don't know what is. The point is the general public forget all this otherwise Johnson wouldn't be PM would he?
So flying the flag of St. George is the action of flag waving simpletons. Labour should use that when fighting the next election, when the Tories increase their majority by another 100 or so, we’ll get the joy of hearing Corbyn in a frock saying that they’ve won the arguments.

But forgive me for stating obvious but just because you don't like doesn't mean that the general public won't ? I can't stand Johnson but he is our PM but the majority of the general public do because they have just voted him in on a landslide.

All very true mate but if Labour want to challenge again who I like is more important than who you do just by the sheer fact they have you in the bag.

The lefter leaning section of Labour have a pretty simple choice to make either stick on principle and do no good or move rightward and gradually drag people to the left.

On a slightly separate note, if Labour want to do more for women, they should crack down on some of the abuse that Laura Kuenssberg's been getting before they think about electing a female leader.

Corbyn has spoken out on this in the past which I respect but a lot of the abuse she gets is unwarranted. I've got absolutely no qualms with fair criticism of her but a lot of it is overboard and seems to be coming from Labour members and being stoked by some Labour MPs.

That's not to say that other parties don't have their issues with it too.

Well she called an entire northern constituency thick for supporting Brexit.

Even as someone who thinks Brexit is a bad idea, it’s an appalling thing to say and the type of mindset that lost the referendum and that then lost the General Election.

And Johnson called muslims letter boxes and bank robbers, and yet still muslims voted for him. It is appalling I agree but back in the day it would have mattered we are in different times we have Trump and mini Trump nobody gives a fuck!

Nope just my opinion, but I am afraid to say its a pretty common opinion Mr Thornberry!

Maybe in your circles of friends and social media feeds but that doesn't account for everyone. What people will like about her is she speaks her mind says like it is just like Johnson and Farage and that's what people can relate to whether you like or agree with what she actually sayss.

Seriously have a word with yourself, of course the Tories will use that just like Labour used tanked topped bum boys, piccaninnies with water melon smiles, single mothers and Liverpool fans (I could go on) You really don't get it do you ? If there is one lesson we have learned is that Its irrelevant mate she made a crass comment or maybe even a few more nobody cares because she has a strong character who will brush it off and the general public as has. Listening to her the other day on the Radio she has her head screwed on she is ruthless and will move things on if selected as party leader.

Whataboutism in its worst form.

I don’t like Johnson, I actively dislike him as PM.

Rather that just going “look at the Tories” maybe addressing Labour’s deeply out-of-touch approach would be more beneficial.

If I was a leave voter from the North East or Lancashire, I’d fuck Labour off for a generation if Thornberry got put up as leader.

That is the big question but first and foremost we need a strong electable candidate you need a ruthless **** who isn't afraid to make changes, general elections are about personality first policies afterwards hence where we are now. Personally I would junk this idea of outsourcing policy to the party members it doesn't work. By all means consult, listen and gather consensus but as Emily said Labour needs a clear strategy from day 1 and sticks with that. A major faults of Corbyn is that he changed his Brexit strategy in 2019 all he had to say was he would honour the vote just like in 2017 and he could have reduced the margin of defeat significantly.
For me its Thornbury or Starmer and obviously Thornbury being my preferred option.

No mate, you need to listen to the electorate,
Labour lost because of the likes of Thornberry. She is one of many that embraced Corbyn’s toxic tenure, it simply has to be someone who has persistently decried him, and you need to understand that socialism and
the ones who propound it, are never going to be accepted.
It looks like Labour has not, and never will, get this, evidenced by the candidates being presented, but since Momentum moved in,
that was always going to be the case.

We just disagree that she is electable which won’t change, Labour are not as far off as they seem the Tories are getting giddy and over confidence is a killer. Get the right leader and the right policies(I agree with dumping party members for policy but don’t know if this is possible?) and the next election could look very different.

I think you will fuck it up though.
