The mainstream theory (the one with some supporting evidence) is that it transferred from a bat to a pangolin, then a human got infected by the pangolin.
The first known case had no connection to the wet market.

They simply don't know. It's an assumption.

Worrying about the origin has little to no benefit, in the ongoing pandemic. It's a tool used to apportion blame and proliferate a dangerous narrative.

Prof Whitty has got a appreciation thing going on in social media, people are making those plaster cast things of his head and painting pics of him and selling them for the nhs, can't imagine what he thinks of that lol

well why haven t we seen It before , that has been happening for centuries. Why now ?
i dont know mate,,someone will chuck some light on it,,,maybe a million to one chance two certain species have close contact that would not normally happen in nature and both have run down immune systems due to being caged and the result is this, most certainly bats and pangolins i'd say,,think Chippy could help out with this one

wasnt from eating a bat, close contamination from animals on the wet markets with low immune systems, then prob by handling them,,hope that helps
Seen an Australia 60 minutes on YouTube, some geezer who had summat to do with SARS was on it,mentioned summat about the wet markets, basically these animals never come into contact with each other in the real world bar these markets, each have different viruses but never meet each other due to them being on different continents.
Transfer to each other on these markets as they are all in the same room.
Dunno if that's plausible or not,hes the "expert" and seemed pretty sure it was from a bat.

everyone who is not a crank says that,i have seen pics of monkeys, dogs and something I couldn't make out all in bits on a table,it is so vile and those poor animals, breaks my heart

Bizarre that a bloke in Brazil (or is it Bolivia?) can be arsed getting worked up about the leader of a part of the UK. Sitting here in England, I don't really care what she says, although she seems to be doing a better job than the UK government, so why someone sat on another continent is arsed is beyond me.
I’m confused?

Yeah it really is fucking disgusting, I've not eaten meat in a decade if not more and will not and neither will my kids.

In some ways humans deserve this virus, considering how we treat the world around us.

There was a piece on Ch4 News last night - those ones they closed in Thailand have now reopened (same with many in China too I believe)...all those animals (live and dead) back in the same confined spaces.

Few images that might upset on there btw (it's not a shocker, but just a warning):
