Running thread

So you’re a runner and adhere to social distancing (which pretty much most runners I’ve seen do) yet you label runners as the new cyclists and are cunts. So you’re calling yourself a ****?

no the ones who have ran past me and my wife brushing into us or about 6 inches away, they are cunts fella

Went out for a trot this morning 5.25k (5k was done in about 26:30 which isn't bad for me).

All prep for my now 'pretend' 10k Tatton Park run next Sunday.

On the back of that, stick with it and push towards 15k and to from there.......

10.5 miles this morning through and around Heaton Park average pace 8:45.... shout out to Brian Kidd who said hello near the back of golf course, looked well, beautiful morning for it.
I’ve seen Brian a few times over the last few weeks, always smiles and lets on.

No problem with runners IMO they are mostly considerate and don't hug the pavement, cyclists on pavements get on my tits though, not the lycra mob the mountain bike mob.

I walk not run because of an impact injury and can put 5k away in 30 minutes ish (Depending on wind etc and how much pie I have eaten the day before). When I see someone out exercising no matter what they are doing it's a great sight.

Inspired by a few others I ran 21k this morning, which I have just realised is roughly 50 metres short of a half marathon which is a bit annoying.

Ran on a mixture of roads and trails and finished in 1:42:18. Felt good at the end, bar the feet which were aching and I started to feel every step.

Food, bath and liquid were very welcome at the end.

Another 7am run this morning, it's a beautiful time of the day to run folks. I run on the road for 90% of my run as there are no cars. In the hour I pass about 3 other runners on the 10k route and about 10 dog walkers. Recommend it anyone that's put off by running at peak times.

I did the organised Tatton10k the day the West Ham was abandoned. Really enjoyed the run but Ks 6-8, running a continuous incline up the hill was a real killer. If you are struggling for a route, might be worth checking out the website.

It is a bitch of an incline that isn't it?

I enjoyed my run round there though

It was really tough and to add to the incline a really straight path which seems to go on forever. Totally unexpected and almost cruel after being battered by winds that day, Storm Ciara, as the course is quite exposed.

Lovely place to run though and when things return to normal will defo run it again. Sadly I was too focused on my time, so never fully appreciated the surroundings, but from glimpses could It must be a great place to run for leisure.

Nice 5km run tonight, best run so far, just starting to build up again. It's my 5th run since I felt awful in March, mainly because I've been really busy in work and partly because it took my lungs a bit to get over whatever I had.

Going to start running properly again though, got lazy since I quit football and athletics but I need to get back to being more active. I was really getting going in the gym before all this hit as well.
