Guidelines are simple, social distancing still applies, don’t share items if possible, wash hands etc, don’t be shaking hands and kissing people etc. It’s not that hard to understand. Each company is responsible to ensure its employees can return to work safely.
If they are as simple as you say, why have they not been provided to businesses before they re-open? It's obviously the wrong order to tell businesses to re-open before issuing the guidelines, whether they are simple or not

Sounds like you can choose one lucky friend.

So did you understand like me .....if you drive into the uk ferry or euro tunnel you dont need to quarantine only if you fly in.
Joint statement from Johnson and Macron: "No quarantine measures would apply to travellers coming from France at this stage; any measures on either side would be taken in a concerted and reciprocal manner. A working group between the two governments will be set up to ensure this consultation throughout the coming weeks." I read that as any from of transport.

Well go to work then, do exactly as you are told and be in your intensive care bed in a couple of days.
I tell you what then big bollocks.
I will ring my mortgage company and tell them that shall I.
some people live in the real world and as hard as it might be to understand.
I didnt really want to go back to work last week.
But it was either go in and share a van with another lad or have no job

He didn't even say that - although I suspect he just hasn't thought about ferries or the eurostar.

He said he's giving notice that soon it will time to put a quarantine in place. Why it will be 'soon' not 'now'/'last month', and why it needed to be announced that at some indeterminate point in the future something will happen, is probably harder to answer.

I expect that they think the people that run companies are intelligent people who understand what is needed. There are plenty of companies currently trading and haven’t needed to be breastfed because they aren’t stupid. Stop being argumentative and trying to manipulate what has been said

QUOTE

Although on my part I would effortlessly slip back into the pre-hysteria world of crowded trains and tubes and bustling cafes and venues,
some people have been so taken in by the hype and misinformation that they are now psychologically scarred similar to agoraphobia. Understandable to a large extent in the elderly and sick but quite a few younger people will have it too which is irrational (but that’s phobias for you.) I call the latter Koolaiders and can spot them easily as they hurry round Tesco in masks and gloves eyeing everyone as though they are leprous. To help these poor folk back into reality I can see a new branch of Psychiatry being formed, Covidophobia?, where they can impart their deepest fears about the virus from a ethanol scrubbed. socially distanced couch to a sympathetic doctor clad in full hazmat gear.

I can picture complete mayhem in every household tonight and people on the phone to friends and workmates. Blindsided.

Ring them from your intensive care bed.

Not heard that. When did they announce that?

Clear as a bell for me and pretty much what I alluded to earlier. First step, see if it spikes, back to lockdown if it does.

For those who don’t understand Raab is on breakfast TV across tomorrow morning and Boris is taking the evening Q and A. It will be clearer for those of you by tomorrow night.

Let’s see what happens. I hope to god the fucker stays away but I have my doubts.

Manufacturing will not start running by just getting people back, the stores are jam packed with parts etc.
Until the chain is freed up at the consumer end then you can't have people on furlough coming back and the company having to pay wages, all I can see is redundancy on a massive scale.
Really felt it was all arse backwards this weekend with Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland having their statements before the PM, Boris should lead and others can tweak to suit themselves should have been the way.

Wow. Can barely call it a lockdown now.

Free holiday for those on furlough. Enjoy it while you can, get down to the beach, meet a friend and have a drink or two.

That is what you take from that seriously?

If there is a deadly unknown virus going round with no vaccination at this present time, there is no way I will be taking a walk down to the the park or beach or mixing with other people when it is not necessary to do so.

There should be no need to listen to government advice on common sense actions, it’s pretty straight forward. If people take the above as they can now mix freely and have a long holiday then they are in for a shock in the near future.
