COVID-19 — Coronavirus

All a plot by the liberal elite to make the government look inept when, in reality, we all know they're doing a sterling job, that Johnson speaks for the whole 4 nations; that there isn't any confusion and that having the highest mortality rate in Europe is a sign we're doing just tickety-fucking-boo.

But a lower deaths rate per million than Spain, Italy, Belgium and France.

don't worry, Boris will make those numbers work in his favour, last time he painted such a number on the side of a bus he got a new job as PM
I forgot that, hence him throwing another number out there with no proof or need to back it up,he was a liar before covid and he is a liar now

Get it shaved off fella!

I have a full head of hair if I let it grow but I’ve been a suede head for about four years now but since lockdown been trimming it to no guard all over.

When you first start doing it, you realise that when you get up in the morning you don’t have to “do your hair”. It’s like a little positive surprise the first few days!
The ironic thing is that when I finally get my hair cut, I'll be going into the barbers with hair shorter than when I came out, in the 1970s.

You've missed the point completely.

I know how it works. You just can't do it when you run out of resources as the uK did mid March. As the case load comes down and a trained cohort is put in place it will be ramped up again. But you knew that right because you watched the select committee meetings as i did.

If you know how it works then why did you ask me how to track and trace 200,000 cases? Are you defending the approach being taken in the UK?

So do I have this right if next weekend I want to have a drive and a walk in the lakes on my own for example, this is deemed ok and not illegal?

He did say in "construction and manufacturing" and "where it is safe" within the social distancing rules.
Not true. His exact words:
"We said that you should work from home if you can, and only go to work if you must. We now need to stress that anyone who can’t work from home, for instance those in construction or manufacturing, should be actively encouraged to go to work." (my bold).

Yes he said u can drive to different destinations from WEDNESDAY,off to my holiday home in Norfolk can't wait.Just me and the Mrs plus the dog also keeping away from other people.

Shambolic

John Apter, the national chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, says the work of the police must be based on "crystal clear guidance, not loose rules that are left open to interpretation".

Apter calls on the government must provide "clear and unambiguous messaging and guidance", adding that any lack of clarity "will be grossly unfair on officers whose job is already challenging".

He says the UK government's changes in England follow "a week of mixed messages and the release of some information which, fuelled by media speculation, meant many people acted as though the lockdown had already ended".

"If the message of what is expected of the public is not clear, then it will make the job of policing this legislation almost impossible," he says.

A business group has advised companies in London "not to change" their plans for Monday despite the prime minister saying people who could not work from home should return to the workplace.

Richard Burge, chief executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said businesses should wait until the government has given them guidance on how they can prepare for ensuring their employees can commute safely to work and be kept safe in the workplace.

Mr Burge told its members: "You have not been given sufficient information on how to get your employees safely to work, nor how to keep them safe while they are there."

Boris Johnson said in his address that those who could not work from home would now be encouraged to return to work - but they should avoid using public transport to get there if possible”

Do other countries have the same level of outrage over absolutely everything ?

no matter what Boris said tonight it’s obvious it would divide opinion and everyone would launch onto social media and forums to vent. It’s tiresome.
No, but then again, they don't live in a country with the highest number of mortalities. Those deaths are tiresome, I agree.

But a lower deaths rate per million than Spain, Italy, Belgium and France.

Belgium 8,581 deaths 11.42 pop 751.27 deaths/capita
Spain 26,478 deaths 46.72 pop 566.69 deaths/capita
Italy 30,395 deaths 60.43 pop 502.97 deaths/capita
United Kingdom 31,587 deaths 66.49 pop 475.07 deaths/capita
France 26,284 deaths 66.99 pop 392.37 deaths/capita

not quite, but given we had 2 extra weeks to prepare for this and basically procrastinated the time away, we should be in a better position. Belgium is a ridiculous stat tho

Kier agrees with me

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said Mr Johnson's speech lacked "clarity and consensus" and raised "as many questions as it answers".

He told BBC News that millions of people who cannot work from home were effectively being told to go to work with just 12 hours' notice - and not to use public transport.

So probably wrong then :)
Perhaps Mr Starmer would clarify exactly who has been TOLD by the government that they must return to work tomorrow.

He cant win I totally agree.

all fucking good at moaning and saying that’s not clear , this is shit , people will die

not one fucking clever so and so making any suggestion of how they would deal with this pandemic and protect the economy

other than he could be clearer , he could be better oh he is a Tory uncaring **** .

that’s about the level of actual debate
