I wonder if people will continue to stay in a state of ¨emergency¨ even if a vaccine etc is found, ie continue to live a bit more frugally, not be concerned with new car, holidays etc and may have discovered they can get by without some of life¨s additionalities. Or maybe we will just revert to type and all go back to traffic jams, offices, unused gym membership.

The latter I suspect.

Never been too bothered about cars, but holidays and travel I can’t wait to get back to. If anything It’s made me realise how short and fragile life can be. Don’t know how many more trips round the sun I have but am determined to make as much as I can out of them.
I"never thought I¨d get fed up having rib-eye steak for tea!

When on public transport, passengers should minimise the time they spend near other people and avoid physical contact with them.

The DfT guidance recognises that "there may be situations where you can't keep a suitable distance from people", like on busier services or at peak times.

"In these cases you should avoid physical contact, try to face away from other people," the guidance says

Another planet or they never go on the tube

Challenged over whether it was confusing for people that they couldn't welcome their grandchildren or other family members into their home, but could allow their cleaners or carers into their houses, Mr Hancock disagreed.

"The principles are really clear and the public have been really sensible so far," he said

Yes, but the private company is currently asking £99 a pop.
It's CE approved and we are waiting for it to be available on Amazon for £25.
I must have missed this. Surely the government would/could compulsory purchase, or pass legislation to ensure cost is much lower/free. What is the accuracy rate of the test as I know there were grave concerns last time.

This one is 100% for negative and 500-1 positive for antibodies. So 1 in every 500 may show you have antibodies when you in fact don't.

I didn't get that at first. But it obvious when you think about it. People would naturally stay more than 2m away from a work colleague or cleaner. But some people are much less likley to do that with close family and friends, like the Kyle Walkers of this world. I am sure we all know people who have ignored the lockdown rules and had family round etc. I certainly it do.

So, as I thought, we haven¨t got a reliable test.

I believe it is classed as 100%, it just some (1 in 500) people who had had SARs or other coronavirus may indicate positive in this test.
(sorry i'm in work right now, but just some stuff i read up on last night etc)

Another 350 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in hospitals in England.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus deaths has risen to 23,709, NHS England said.

Of the 350 deaths announced today, 44 occurred on 11 May, 90 occurred on 10 May and 44 occurred on 9 May.

The figures also show 92 of the newly announced deaths took place between 1 May and 8 May, 76 took place in April, while the remaining four deaths occurred in March, with the earliest occuring on17 March.

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death in hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed and for data from the tests to be validated.

There have been a further nine deaths of patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, bringing fatalities to 447.

Another 50 deaths in Scotland

The latest UK-wide figures are expected later

Then why doesn't he just say that

Think that’s pretty much as reliable as it gets.
I must be misreading it then! If 1 in 500 show you have the antibody but, in fact, you don¨t, then, extrapolated across 68 million, we could have 136000 false results? How could 1 in 500 be classified as 100%? I thought the antibody test was a huge game-changer, and if we had a ¨100%¨ test, it¨d be all over the news.
