Spot on. As time goes by and further desperation sinks in as to how they can conclude this season, I see some even wackier solutions being put fwd. Come on Boris, put the PL out of their miseryMoney innit
still can't see your mum and dad at the same time but unrelated people can play a contact sport
Someone needs to ask boris that question directly

Next season starting at the normal time wont happen....so what is the problem with just delaying things, resuming this season at a later, safer date? Next season will be delayed anyway...if it starts later adjustments could possibly be made for facilitating games in the shorter time frame....maybe cancel the league cup...even FA cup....
Like, feck Liverpool...but all these ridiculous suggestions of facilitating matches as quickly as possible are just that, ridiculous.
Just wait.
Certainly there are many of the type you describe, but even they will I think find games in empty stadiums underwhelming. Its different world and a different game than the one many of us grew up with and as we know there are many reasons for that. I rarely go these days but knowing and to a degree hearing people with the passion I used to have when attending does come across when watching on the TV.
I actually think the footballing authorities have forgotten how vital fans are for the "product and experience". I actually think the fans have been brainwashed into forgetting that they are as important as the players managers referees all the people that make the game what it is. Take thousands of those people away from the stadium and you are left with a shell that really is not that exciting.
I get food delivered. What’s an acceptable risk to go shopping for things we don’t really need ?
Wife just saw her mate at the corner shop who is a nurse on the front line at Salford Royal. She has been asking to get tested at work and even yesterday she was told there is no need as she is not showing any symptoms. Also wife teaches year 6 in primary school so she will get asked to go back in to school in a few weeks times. No way will she get tested... meanwhile the expectation is that premier league football will get tested before every training session. Unbelievable.
Do you work for any of Sky, BBC, BT Sport, FIFA, UEFA, the FA, the PL or a newspaper? The vast majority of match going fans want the season declaring null and void, give the twats the title they will not get much pleasure out of it.You know full well that we can't have full stadia. So if you want equal conditions throughout a season you are effectively saying no football a year. That will be the end of many clubs. Can't see the government paying players.
1 in 7 ,but what about Marvin , he's boredThe official figures are: cases 226343 deaths: 32692. My basic arithmetic would suggest that around 1 in 7 die or a 14% mortality rate. I'm not sure I would want to put myself or anyone I care for in any sort of an increased risk environment-but maybe I'm just a soft bastard!!
You're so right, I doubt people dying has crossed anybodies minds in the least.
Not me but as the rules of the competition have been changed it's not the same competition.
This season is over any restart even with the same rules as before would damage the integrity of the league due to the lenght of the break.
To restart with no fans, no VAR, no home advantage, shorter halfs, more subs, etc is a bloody joke in my eyes. I mean to scrap VAR after it's done its job in getting liverpool so close is a bloody insult to us fans, VAR has f**ked up so many games this season, but now we cant have 3 refs in the same room but it's ok for 22 players and ref to run around next to each other .......joke
TouchéI get food delivered.
Again, yous are misunderstanding what im saying....i have never suggested restarting with no fans or no var or shorter halfs or any of that absolute bollox....i am suggesting just stalling the league....wait until all is back to normal....or as safely possible....and carry on, no change. All teams will have the same advantage/disadvantage.
It will probably be Xmas by the time its sorted...or even later....so no point having a 20/21 season.....prepare for the Euros....get that done, back in for the 21/22 season.....

Liverpool set to be crowned champions as voiding season is written off according to sky.
Give it to them, no relegation in any leagues, 6 teams promoted, 4 relegated next year, no domestic cups next year, revenue from extra games next year for tv.
Guarantee the elite teams in C.L to keep Uefa happy and play that behind closed doors at least early on. Spread the qualifying money to help teams in financial difficulties. Change the format for one season to the super league thing they want.
Basically the league ended on last games date. Return to usual format season after.
Everyones happy apart from some teams maybe miffed about missing out on Europe, but unprecedented times and all that. Ones who where in for a shout at promotion in 7th etc will have a better shot next year.
Then we can focus on a date for starting next season and put this behind us as anything after this month is fucking next season up and this season is already dead.
case closedSo we open football stadia, allow those under 45 in to watch the games and the effect is that in the first month only 200 people under 45 contract the virus, 190 recover well, 4 eventually make recovery, 4 are invalids forever and 4 are killed. . Is that ok in your world?
Then consider the families that the not quite impervious under 45’s take the virus home to - and say another 50 or so over 45’s die, a couple of children too (it can actually kill at any age) another 200 people are hospitalised and half a dozen medical staff contract the virus, a couple more die.
Is it still ok in your world?
The fact of the matter is that deaths are actually increasing in some areas and Salford, which is where 2 of my kids live, is one example.
It doesn’t take that many idiots thinking that they're Impervious to it for us to see the numbers of those affected and those dying horribly rising suddenly.
As another example; in Korea (where the government took quick and effective action, so they got right on top of it), they recently opened some nightclubs. Attendees had to give their names, phone numbers & addresses upon entry so that the authorities could act promptly if a new outbreak arose.
An outbreak did arise and it was found that one bloke with no symptoms (a shedder) had infected 85 other people in the space of 2 hours in one nightclub.
Now Korea have mass testing and squads of trace and test specialists who quickly search out those at risk of having been in proximity to someone infected, so they can act effectively to eliminate new outbreaks.
We have a bumbling shambolic government so we have none of that, zilch, nada, zip, nowt - so every new outbreak here spreads like wildfire and kills many.
Even those not killed can take many months to recover, some will never fully recover because their lungs are so badly scarred that they’re invalids dependent on care for the rest of their miserable lives.
If you think about it fully, I think you’ll agree that you getting together with your mates to watch 22 blokes hoof a bladder up and down a pasture isn’t on, even if it means the loss of just one life.
If it kicks off and someone special to you gets affected I’m sure you’ll be furious at the uncaring idiots who called for its resumption.

Are you seriously suggesting they should write off next season simply to complete this?Again, yous are misunderstanding what im saying....i have never suggested restarting with no fans or no var or shorter halfs or any of that absolute bollox....i am suggesting just stalling the league....wait until all is back to normal....or as safely possible....and carry on, no change.
