Keir Starmer

I know. It's probably about right too. She hasn't lied about it and admitted wrong doing. Suspension is enough for me. It's quite a departure from someone who helped draft the rules knowingly breaking them in a premeditated way, taking the virus to his workplace, lying about it and then the government changing its entire messaging on the rulebreaking just to suit one person. Keep pretending they're the same though if it's that important to you to stick up for Big Dom.

She apologised
She Acted swiftly
She is current not in her role
She is Not under his jurisdiction

Just excuses. Always excuses

Add all the above to Cummings and you would still be baying for blood.

That’s before The multiple other labour lockdown breakers are even added
If he’d done what she did and resigned, it would have been over the same day. Johnson goes into hiding and only comes out to save a ‘non-elected’ official and you’re surprised people are a bit titsed off with it. Not only that, had he come straight out and said he’d panicked, gone up north but, on reflection, he’d made a mistake, he’d have got away with that. What people are hacked off with are the blatant double standards at play.
Professor gets caught, resigns. Scottish medical woman gets caught, resigns. Scouse mayor gets caught, resigns. Cummings gets caught and gets to do a full press conference at number 10, said he doesn’t regret anything and he’s still there. Surely you can see that looks a bit wrong?

I agree he should have gone yes

She did lie
She said people dropped presents off
Then a photo emerged with seats in back garden

Maybe if she was the involved in brexit
It would be a bigger deal

And I suggest what occurred in her back garden has far bigger potential to spread the virus

But she was heavily involved in the decision not to allow local schools to open due to the R being too high whilst her actions could be part of the reason for that.

Which is why she has voluntarily stepped down I imagine.
She is actually officially suspended now 2 months no where near enough taking your Cummings line she should be gone and we should be reading about 3 bye elections but we aren't strange that. Me I am consistent all 5 should be out of work.

I mean, she can go for me. But admission of wrongdoing and some kind of punishment is a reasonable start. It was also a situation she didn't plan for that her daughter dropped her in the middle of. I just don't see that many parallels to Cummings who has stood by his actions and government messaging has been changed to suit which will no doubt result in further deaths.

Which big of Cummings actions should he go for?

Going into work from being with his sick wife.
Driving to the other end of the country.
Driving to a beauty spot when he didn't trust his eyesight.

You obviously don't think he broke any rules though so let's not argue about it. I have seen all of the counter arguments already and I, like most people, think they're bullshit.

He was clearly proponent of herd immunity, has been quoted as saying it was ok to let pensioners die and he thinks hiring eugenicists to work in the civil service is appropriate.

To be honest, the biggest fuck up isn't even the fact he's still in his job. It's the fact they changed their message to suit him that pisses me off most.

Anyway, wrong thread for this. I'm done.

I think he should resign for the castle visit no doubt.
I believe the other stuff he should apologise for
My main argument is that I feel people want him gone because of his dr evil persona and Brexit
Yet any other manner of labour people are not held to the same scrutiny
So I agree with you more than it probably appears

Totally agree.

So Starmer reaches out to Johnson by means of a personal letter - Johnson's lame response is "ah-ha but I rang you " when they have had to admit the truth is

Oh look. Boris misled parliament. Again.

in other breaking news, tomorrow is Thursday

I wouldn't say he misled Parliament he was economical with the actualite'. He made it sound like a personal call when he could have made it clear it was a conf call - he made a call so didn't lie but gave the impression it was something else - and for a reason - that letter pulled the rug from under him.

So, misled Parliament then :)

What about
Does the prime minister think labour is a party of hypocrisy who call out others for breaking the rules while doing so themselves?

Is calling a married man over from his family home for a shag acceptable as long as the 2m rule is obeyed?

Does the prime minister think it’s is acceptable for an mp to attend a funeral with 100 other people when clearly against lockdown rules?

Is it acceptable to pop from wales to London to your dads for birthday cake if he used to lead the Labour Party?

If Cummings is sacked would the prime minister be open to another referendum on the eu?

Shall I add Barry gardiner to the list
He currently sits top for being a complete wanker
