I caught a short section of the Jeremy Vine show on Radio Two this dinner time, in which he was talking about the return of the Premier League.

He was interviewing some dickhead, who got himself a Champions 2020 tattoo (not like Littlewoods fans to be premature) when they were something like 23 points ahead.

Apparently, he’s had the piss taken out of him left, right and centre.

Serves the fucker right!

He also claimed that it will be the most memorable season ever, though I can think of at least two more memorable.

This means dicks.

Its getting to the point where it's so unmemorable I'm not, sure even which season it is anymore.

Watched a great documentary about the Everton team that won titles in the 80's this morning on Sky, Howard's Way. Had Sheedy, Ratcliffe, Steven, Richardson, Bailey, Gray, Reid, Southall, Pat van den Heuw(?) Talking about that era. Jesus Bailey has aged!

Some good stories and esp the one where the Binman as they called him, used to have the players take shots at him in ne . He would have his hands behind his back and make the saves with his head diving every which way. In my book he was definitely the world no 1.

Then they inevitably came to the part which ended that great side, the H word. Southall said that this side was the best in europe, and would have been the best in europe for 5 years at least. He never got the chance to confirm that. Tbf he was magnanimous about the reasons why, but I got the sense it was through gritted teeth. You cant blame the club he said. But the stadium was decrepit and the police and stewards should have performed better. Maybe so I thought to myself, but they were put into an impossible position by the actions of the fans. It was their behaviour on that night which drove the events and repercussions for all.

I think the reaction that said the most came from Pat van den Heuw. He couldn't even talk about it. He was visibly getting upset as he said he disnt like to discuss it. Now I may have read him wrong but I got the impression that his reaction was driven by the huge sense of disappointment of that team not being able to show the whole of europe that they were the best.

What a team that was. I remember going to a QF there one horrible dark night in winter and they absolutely battered us, men against boys.

They were robbed of being able to prove that by their self-righteous neighbour's.

A fact though I like to state when any dipper tries to belittle the club, a quick quip back about how Everton would have most likely won in Europe etc had it not been for liverpool fans actions in Italy

Goes down well

the rashford coverage this week will be hurting them badly and i would anticipate some big PR stunt coming up pretty soon. they will be looking at some way of incorporating major tom, willie thorne, BLM, George Floyd or the NHS into to some form of memorial before the merseyside derby.

Whatever it is, it will definitely mean more!

At some point this new season they will have Major Tom in their starting line up.

it will be very interesting to see how they spin their first title possibly in thirty years into a positive one. this year will not be remembered for any football or sporting achievements. there will be a grand gesture by them of some description to turn the year about them.
