Nathan Ake

Thought I'd put this in here because no one really goes on the Tosin thread. Is Tosin actually good enough to be playing for us? If we were buying a CB from a mid table championship team with the intention of him being first team rotation, there would be uproar in here, look at some posters reactions to bringing in Ake, a premier league proven player easily good enough to start for us. So, is Tosin good enough, or do people just want him because he's City through and through and he's already ours?

When he was at city and played a few cup games I thought he hadn’t grew into his body would like to have a look at him now in a city shirt.

Well then write homegrown an angry letter to the FA. In the meantime, I think you've lost sight of the fact that you said you didn't rate Ake and someone asked if you know any alternatives who are left footed centrebacks, suited to our system and hides behind sofa homegrown.

Who would you want instead?

De virj don’t know what he’d cost if I’m honest but a top player, Ake 43 million for a player who has just got relegated sounds a lot to me

Still confused. Have not seen the lady I have not seen anything about him or Ferran in Scotland confused as to why either would be in Scotland regardless of the company. He could go anywhere in the world with whoever the lady is. Footballers usually go to warm places or exciting cities. I love Scotland tho
Bernie is obviously an intelligent man with wide interests and l can quite imagine him visiting Scotland to see what it offers and there is a lot.
He reminds me of the Scottish Chelsea player who commentates for Radio 5 whose name l cant remember.

What I was trying to say, without getting my head instantly ripped off, is that De Vrij doesn't qualify to meet a certain quota of the domestic variety.

All I’m trying to say pal is 43 million is a gamble he may be a snip but I haven’t seen anything that says that. Sorry if I was over the top going to get a shower then off to pub to chill out:)

I think even people like myself who rate him as a player didn't expect to shell out that much for him.

But we saved a fair bit on Ferran Torres so swings and roundabouts.

Well unless you think City can produce a 25-strong squad of English players good enough to compete at the top level we'll have to make do with your "bullshit" rules. The rule doesn't say these players are English, just that they've been developed as youngsters for a long period at an English club.

Maybe it’s time for these rules to change to encourage more genuinely homegrown players. It would have been good for Harwood Bellis to have started a Prem game rather then Pep keeps picking a talented contract rebel and were virtually guaranteed of finishing 2nd anyway.

I rate Ake but we probably need another dominant central defender alongside Laporte if we are going to compete for titles with Liverpool and Bayern etc.
