Pep Guardiola - 2019/20 Performances

Like it or not, alex ferguson is the standard of winning managers in the premier league. You would never have seen him play in such a way in the champions league or admit to being afraid of the main contenders in liverpool and klopp.
Like it or not, he won just 2 CLs with a club that dominated domestically for 2 decades. Played like an absolute coward in the two finals against Barca. Can't believe people are bigging up this red nosed twat for CL performances.

Erm totally changed the way they played for the 2012 derby,he was scared and said after he shouldn't have done it
Plus they had some embarrassing knockouts over the years. There were years they didn't get out of the group.

The clip shows Ferdinand suggesting that the Laporte was fouled and the goal shouldn't have stood. Laporte's saying that if even Rio, who has no love for City, is suggesting that then maybe people should take a closer look at VAR.
I understand it now, it sounds simple until you remember that it's UEFA, Champions League, VAR - in favour of City? .....no chance;)

Like it or not, he won the champions league twice, lost to a superior team with messi in the final and still didn't admit inferiority to any team within the domestic league. I hate being on the side of the man, but there comes a point when you have to take a step back and realise the correct way to go about things.

He got it wrong but nobody died. Just one.of those things. I was highly critical but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water.
You're absolutely correct. In the grand scheme of things this year. So what, we're out of the Champions League and who wants to win it with no fans?

We fucked up....simples. Fuck the snowflakes, fuck the young school.
Its getting too complicated for its own good. old school .... you played to win

Pep has a reputation for making tactical tweaks in key knockout games that blow up in his face.

I bet when they saw that lineup the Lyon manager highlighted that and they were full of confidence.

Our players on the other hand...

I can't even blame our players for their individual errors in these circumstances, Pep sent them out like lambs to the slaughter.

Winning the title with 75 points. Clearly the league was flooded with super clubs and financial heavyweights. Must have been a tough job.

Fair enough, still doesn't explain why pep is making it public that he is afraid of liverpool. Kind of proves the original point i was making.

Everything is relative. I just don't think there can be any legitimate support for pep in the champions league which I believe is more important than winning anything else in the coming years.

One of the worst things about it is we have imo the best, most exciting players and team in the world on our day and have done for the past 3 years. Even if we do ever win the Champions League (which I can't see happening under Pep), I wouldn't want to see us win it in some scrappy, anti-football type way with 5 men at the back with Rodri and Gundogan in front: I'd want to see us go toe-to-toe with other clubs and prove we're the best by winning it the way we became centurions by blitzing other teams away and deservedly winning the trophy.

It was such a cowardly, shithouse way to go out tonight.

One of the worst things is he's always talking in the media about how our club has very little history in the competition and how we have to believe we belong there and then he goes and sets us up like some small team that feels we don't belong there.

hes got it wrong 4 times mate when on the verge of being in a semi final in Europe, its not just tonite.

Anyway the end of season review in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mansour should be interesting.

Ffs,pep inherited the oldest team in the prem with four fullbacks over 30,one was 33,all needed replacing and that was just the start to get the average age right down, get rid of the likes of bony and replace him,mp let them get old and unfit for purpose, just what is the point of playing with numbers, the semi final was only one game better than last night

I liked Pellegrini but Pep has not only won the league back to back, in one of the seasons he broke numerous records in the process. Champions League we look better under Pep (although there is still major room for imrovement)

Wouldn’t have picked that team tonight though after 4 years of supposed progress
And what would his resale value be?. Kane has been fantastic for Spuds, there is no guarantees he will transfer that. He may be one bad tackle from retirement with his dodgy ankles.
Yep,Sanchez at the Rags
....or maybe they know he's now a crock, aging beyond his years and will be worthless inside 2yrs?
If you are talking about Benzema he is still better than Kane in terms of what he has achieved individually and in a team. Age means nothing. As for Kane he is the main man in a team that is set up for counter attacking. We aren't set up for that and won't be playing that type of Football as long as Pep is in charge. And he is injury prone and has missed large chunks of last season and is known to have very dodgy ankles.
not fit to lace Aguero's boots
stats mean nothing.

Sergio has played against 10 man packed defences for at least the last 3 seasons

Hold up play isnt something we require...linking play is and Sergio has adapted very well to that....he is more mobile than Kane whereas Kane is a purely central striker and the main man whereas Sergio (again for the last 3 seasons) hasnt been - he is part of a unit.

Ask anyone in the game besides your most diehard spurs fans who they would rather have - Aguero or Kane and id bet virtually every football fan baring those spurs fans would say Aguero

People seem to be righting Aguero off cause he is injured - his goal scoring this season wasnt looking too shabby before that injury (think he was maybe 1 goal behind Raheem at the time or something like that)
Harry “Cane “ the sick note .No thanks.
Because he is past his best as you saw last night. A massive game that passed him by. Indeed Bayern were able to play in the Barcelona half leaving the likes of Boateng and Alaba wide open because they knew that Barca would be overwhelmed and would carry little threat. No way would they play like that against a Leo at the height of his powers.
Messi is bigger then the club. Hes the biggest Problem Barcelona have right now.

He decides the Coaches and transfers . Because of him Suarez and the old Timers always seems to play and have huge contracts( Griezmann is on 900k a week and Suarez ,Busquets,Pique,Alba on 500k)

He's their burden now
What the fuck happened last night? I saw the score but was too pissed to believe it.

Confirmed in the rough as a badgers arse morning.
City win title - Lfc player wins POTY
City win title again - lfc player wins POTY
lfc win title - lfc player will definitely win POTY.

It's embarrassing for the PL and their media.

The excuse book is becoming extremely thin. Tonight was as bad as it gets tactically but at least in Europe he’s constantly evolving to new lows.

Kane is wank.He is just as invisible than (even more so in big games) the rest of our strikers currently on our books. Messi could help but that is too much of a risk even in our current state.
