CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Surprised to see this thread back at the top again but while it is does anyone know what’s happening with our complaint to UEFA about the leaks that CAS referred to as an on-going investigation?

Not seen anything about timeframe on this.

I'm not even sure that many people knew there was a case at Ethics until the CAS judgement was published!

If anyone has any doubts about the normal illegality of forming a cabal to operate a cartel this article in todays El Pais (Spanish daily) explains the severity of such corruption.

Not only is it illegal, but within sport, by any objective measure, it’s cheating - ironically enough.

OT. the same cabal of consultants and accountancy firms hoovers up all the UK public spending contracts as well.
They are big, and intend to stay there, without becoming singularly dominant - as that action would cause the govt to step in and break up the monopoly. So they operate as mutual cartel, squeezing out outsiders, and rubbing each other’s backs. Same as G14

Need another billionaire to join City's board. Then he can start buying up all the sponsors that support either the Champions League or the Europa League.

That would really piss of UEFA wouldn't it. If every new sponsor, that came in. He/She would buy out that company. Then bring an end to the sponsorship, as soon as it was possible to do.

Why become what we hate.
I’d be happy with a level playing field off the field and a return to football as a Sport on the field.
Let us see who is managed best then and whose business model is sustainable.
I’d fancy our chances any day if the corruption and discrimination stopped.

When will that happen mancity2012. We have had this type of press for years. We are still waiting for the board to do something. So why are they not doing something about it.
I fear you are right, but I’ve outlined my views on present day professional football over many different threads.
I have said I’d loved the present regime thorn down, but if it means just replacing the current G14 gillies with our own brand of gillie, then football will still have diminished in my eyes and my enjoyment will still suffer regardless of us winning.
I’d love to see us win this war for the good of football and competition in general.
Idealistic I know, but that’s the way it is with me. Even as a kid and young man I always preferred playing to watching. I played a fair sport and it’s what I want to watch. I want to watch City players who buy into the whole City project and are allowed express themselves freely in a fair competitive sport.
I don’t want an unfair advantage.
I hate the fact we play teams that have that at the moment, so why wish for the same for us.

mancity2012 the point is that UEFA should be about football and not about FFP. Which some clubs seem to be breaking every yea. The likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd all of these clubs have debt well above £400 million. With the likes of both Spanish clubs with debt above £700 million, yet none of these have ever failed FFP, so someone within UEFA has got it in for us.

Things will never change at UEFA unless they are willing to do something about FFP. The one change I would make is either bring in a rule that from season 2022/23 any club with a debt of over £100 million cannot play in any European Comp. This means that they would be barred from either the Champions or the Europa Leagues. There is of course another change that I call COP which stand for CAN OWNERS PAY. All owners must show that they can pay off all of the clubs debt should the creditors come asking for the money. However I am very sure that UEFA will not want to make these changes as it would bar some of the G14 clubs from taking part in their comps.

Aren't we rich enough?

who ever was talking transfers today on talkshite said covid crisis was bad for clubs but more important was the need to close loop holes in FFP but he never followed up with what loop holes had been breached

The usual suspects now tweeting state owned PSG reaching final is a hollow success...

The have no problem Barca having had a large Qatar Airlines as sponsor for years or Arsenal having named Emirates stadium + sponsor.
Is that not sportwashing? and any success by Arsenal and Barca is hollow?

Would they attack Arsenal fans/Barca fans like they do wath City and PSG fans...

As per usual, selective over which human rights abuses they choose to highlight, send them this video
