I believe Shankly was welcomed as a guest by Everton to watch football as Liverpool had basically shunned him.
I'd also heard his autobiography was banned from sale in the club shop as he had the temerity to thank the Moores family for the financial support that enabled him to build a platform for his success.
paisley and the board wanted him out for sure. he had a love for the game and a passion that he needed to satisfy. he enjoyed going to the training ground at everton, helping mick lyons coach the youngsters. i think he regretted retiring too soon, he was a great manager and loved football. he would have hated what they have become today, which is ironic really

A great example just been on ITV news, a 6 year old outside the shithole who is training with them twice a week.
There's no way that would get airtime if this kid was training with another club.
Their PR machine gaslighting the media and their gullible followers lap it all up.

in fairness he'll be the greatest 6 year old in the werld la, supported em since was a kid (in that scouse heartland of slough). just hope lawrenson doesn't tap him up ;-)

They were trying to shoehorn the victims name at every opportunity whilst he was showing off his skills on a pitch with Klanfield in the background. The kid was wearing a full Barcelona kit!
Like you say, a lifelong fan just like their "legends" Rush, Owen, Fowler, McPointy, Slippy G and Spit ;-)

thing is if you sign for them at whatever age you have to subscribe to the party line of " supported them all your life/ boyhood dream etc etc " or it's bullets in the post and aldo threatening you to a straightener on one of his lucid days.

Good old Aldo, shit Ian Rush tribute act and Tranmere Rovers legend.
The man who spat his dummy out when his international team mate tried to console him on losing the league in 89 weeks after he rubbed Brian Laws nose in it during the replayed cup semi final.
The man who thinks Jordan Ibe is better than Raheem Sterling.
It's amazing how many Rags players are also lifelong fans when signing for them. Two cheeks of the same arse.

Another media-driven witch-hunt coming our way very very soon.
Already more about this tweet than the bus attack. i think they are still pissed off about Bernado coming on in his hi-viz to give them a 'brew of honour'. Another weeks time and Heysel will be Bernados fault.

Not sure how true this is but the commentator mentioned during the CL semi tonight that Barca have to pay Dippers more Coutinho money if he wins the CL. Jesus it's a never ending well of £££££
