New striker?

We'll likely not get any striker this summer though unfortunately.

I worry about Sergio and his injury to be honest mate and it seems he will definitely leave at the end of next season so it might be wise to invest now while Covid has hit other clubs finances?

How do you keep 3 strikers happy and in form for 1 position though?

Unless we sign someone now but let him stay at his current club for a year, but that would be a huge gamble, could lose form, get a bad injury etc.

we used to have aguero, Tevez, dzeko and mad Mario! Lol

I was looking at the expected goals for our club, Jesus was expected to be top goal scorer from the chances with 21 goals but was actually 4th with 14 goals. I like his workrate but he's offside too much and is not clinical enough. Imagine if we had a world class fit and clinical striker for all the season, like Lewandowski or Haaland.

If we sign a striker, I don't believe we wil this window, then we would need to move on Jesus or Sergio, impossible to keep 3 players in form and happy if only one starts each game.

You sometimes play one of them (Gabby) out wide in a front three, would be my answer to ‘how?’

Could do, I actually think he plays better on the left than through the middle personally.

Does Pep think that though? The amount of times Pep has played him wide left suggests probably not.

That’s the fucking spirit, spoiled child, we haven’t even kicked a fucking ball yet

Spoiled child?

I take it you watched this season. We have Sterling and Jesus both of whom are falling short in the finishing department when we cannot afford it too happen. We have Sergio who is nearing the end of his career and is unlikely to be fully fit all season.

So based on the evidence I would say a ball does not need to be kicked before that problem needs addressing. Fuck all to do with thats the spirit its flagging up one of the reasons we just lost to Lyon finished way behind Liverpool and lost a cup semi final to a team who had what we had not got....a top class finisher who scores important goals.

Aubameyang wouldn't cost too much, can play anywhere across the front 3, has one of the most consistent scoring records over the past 10 years, is proven in the league & has done well with minimal service from midfield. Plus, he'd help replace Sane's pace on the counter and make us less one-dimensional.

He'd be an incredible option for the next 2/3 years whilst we figure out what life without Aguero looks like.

Spot on this. We definitely need to bring in a world class finisher before we end up doing what we did with Kompany.

I'd probably wait until next summer though. Sort the defence out first and foremost, add Thiago/Aouar (if we can) and leave us with a full summer budget to buy a World Class striker next summer.

I’ve never really like Cavani but if there’s no transfer fee involved surely we could consider him for the next 18 months whilst the club identifies a suitable options?

The team plays maximum of 60 games/season

How many times will Jesus play on the left ?

If you choose Jesus to play on the left, you will have to bench real wingers ( whether its Sterling, Mahrez or Torres ) and you will keep them unhappy.

Its like playing Fernandinho as CB and benching real CBs ( Stones & Otamendy )

Be good enough to not get benched.Stones and Otamendi didn't.

New striker needed this window, think we'll be lucky if Sergio plays half the matches next season, so that leaves Jesus and I'm still not convinced he's the answer. No other squad has only two strikers, potentially one and a half next season, so another option would be nice, Jovic from Madrid might be achievable.
