He's also reported the last couple of years that Neymar was re-signing for Barcelona and that Real would launch a bid to take him back to Spain from PSG.

Pinch of salt and all that.

he reported Messi was leaving a week before anyone else. I’d treat this as top tier

Fact is Barcelona or Messi have not come out to end any rumors which points to the fact that he does want to leave or it's a political move on Messi's part. Either way you look at it, it's more than just paper talk now.

He wants to leave, he doesnt trust the board, doesnt like koeman and has no time to wait for things to change. he is 33 years old already. he has two or three more years at this level and then its over, barça will be rebuilding in the meantime

But Neymar DID want to re-sign for Barca.

You actually gave more evidence to his credibility lol.

Remember just because someone reports something's and it doesn't happen, it doesn't mean it wasnt in the works.

Didn't Barca and Madrid show actual interest in Neymar last summer though? Barto even came out like 2 weeks ago and admitted that they tried really hard to re-sign him last year:

“PSG don’t want to sell either, which makes sense as he’s one of the best players in the world,” Bartomeu said. “Last summer we tried really hard but this summer we won’t even try. The club lost €200m between March and June.”

This is getting exciting but i wonder if we can pull it off before the start of the season

Do I remember correctly that FFP is relaxed/reduced/changed due to Covid ? And if so, does this make it more possible we can sign Messi, may be with a front loaded contract ?

as I understand it clubs will be allowed to roll two years into one. So the numbers still need to add up but over a longer period. So yes in theory.
I think we would be looking at a huge increase in sponsorships from every source and TV revenue globally is an even bigger pull since nobody can actually go. Also I wonder if CFG can be utilised in a deal of this magnitude. Sort of a 2/3 years at city but on a 5 year deal for accounting purposes then with a 2 year loan to say NYFC and then finally a City/ Messi soccer schools Franchise etc away from the prying eyeballs of UEFA etc.

Nothing to add to this other than with all the good memories this club has given me, especially the last decade, if I also get to see the greatest there ever will be in mancunian blue I can die happy.

When this was all a hypothetical earlier in the summer, I understood some Blues going back and forth on wanting him or thinking it ultimately wasn't worth it. But the actual thought of Lionel Messi, the greatest player the world has ever seen, playing for God's own club...sign him the fuck up.

Let's do this.
