Replacing Jesus would be tough IMO. We are so lucky to have Jesus - seems to sit tight and wait for his chance without causing any fuss and when he gets that chance, works his balls off and for all the whinging is a pretty high calibre second choice striker. Before even considering the price, it could be a difficult sell to any very good strikers to say you will be second choice for a couple of years and even if they accept that, there are no guarantees that they will be as professional as Jesus has been when sat on the bench for long periods.Well if we ditch Jesus, we are then much more desperate for a cf than we are for Messi.
I'm not sure who we can guarantee to replace Jesus & for how much.

I think anything more than say £75m, being the c. £50m wages + £25m which Barca give us back for Garcia is getting too much. The above would have us amortise over a 3 year contract at £25m netted off in the first year against Garcia, Barca get to book the full £75m and amortise Garcia over a 5 year contract at £5m per year, so both parties win. Anything more than that and Barca would have to start buying someone else to not leave too much of a dent, assuming sponsor increases would be paying for Messi from a contractual perspective.

I'd also be interested to see the stats for results per minutes played in games won by a single goal, away from home, in recent seasons, compared to Aguero.

You're right! The time limit confused me. I thought it meant you only had two years to terminate your contract. But it means you have to wait two years before you can.

im not sure if it’s based on wages, if so €52m. If it’s the remaining term of his buy out then €116m as he signed it 6 years ago with a year left, I assume it’s the total divided by the term. I’m guessing though.

First, I do not believe Bartomeu is willing to accept any exit unless he can have control of the narrative/terms of said exit.
Two, I am on the fence as to whether Bartomeu believed Messi would follow through on a threatened exit or even wonder whether this was not always his goal anyway - I just think the timing (Esp. due to COVID) probably was not something he saw coming.
Three, I do not believe Bartomeu cares whether Leo is happy now or not - now it is about saving his remaining mandate along with a continuity candidate
Four, the money matters for Bartomeu - particularly because the club is paralyzed on multiple fronts without it or Messi, there is a domino effect there that even Barto & his stooges cannot spin into gold. Ideally for Barto he'd get a high fee + player exchange along with a public Messi exit ceremony where he can recapture some credibility although I doubt very much he'll get the latter.
What do you think will be an acceptable transfer fee figure for Barcelona?

And like I said last night IF Messi comes and Jesus goes Messi can play centre forward as can Sterling.
However if Messi arrives i think we'll play a false 9 formation like we did vs Madrid and like Barcelona did between 2008-12 and if it clicks like it did for Barcelona it'll be amazing to watch
