Don't fall for the media narrative being pushed out of Spain, remember there are billions riding on these issues

I am not a legal expert and even then it's also quite clear that the law is interpreted differently depending on country/court and agenda - because there is absolutely an agenda at work here and considering how much money is at stake, agendas will be played out by any means necessary to influence the legal interpretations

It is known he has a contract that allows him to walk for free at the end of each season now - only question is whether the extenuating circumstances of COVID that has already impacted countless things (Including extension of seasons & contract windows) will be adjudged to be applicable. Thin, I do not believe so - contentious, absolutely

So is gonna be a tought negotiation, and if Man City doesn´t do the correct offer, Bartomeu will be happy to reject it. And Messi can stay and change his mind because in march we will have elections and a new board.

And what is a proper offer to me? García, Bernardo and Gabriel and a small amount of money (20m?) or García and Gabriel and more money (80-100?). You can think is too much because he´s age and the difficult situation for our board. But remember that it´s not a normal player, he´s the symbol of the club, of the city and our hero. For less than that the fans will burn the Camp Nou and they probably will in any case. So i think you will sign him but it won´t be easy.

And my third opinion: a transfer to City is the best for all, Barça, City and Messi.

Usually i dont like a player being more powerful than his club. But this time since being a buying club i hope it does happen.

Thank you for your comments. I do not think Manchester City will allow Jesus or Bernardo to leave.

I do not know the financial proposition but it appears awkward to me. Hitherto a Messi transfer was regarded as impossible to contemplate because of his age and the huge cost. It would just not be feasible. Now it becomes possible because of his contractual situation but I appreciate that different people have different opinions about whether he can leave or not. The players that City could offer are the young defenders Garcia, and Angelino. These are good players but not very well known. City really need a central defender. We lost the league title because we could not replace Kompany and Laporte got injured so we need to buy Koulibaly and that does not leave much finance. I foresee City could offer Angelini, Garcia and £50m. That is not insignificant for a player who is 33 and who wants to leave.

I hope that there is no bad feeling between Manchester City and Barcelona. I have enjoyed very much watching Barcelona play football over the years. Your players have given us much joy. That goes for every football fan in England. Almost everyone here likes barcelona, and largely it is down to Messi.

Nothing contentious at all. The fact he could leave at the end of previous seasons was a gesture that being our greatest ever player we will let you go for nothing when you choose.
All that is happening now is the unbelievable has happened, he wants out, and Barça are fucking him over for money.
Unpleasant experience when visiting Barça so for me they will hopefully crash and burn

There is no bad feeling between the board members but between the club there is a very bad feeling. Among fans also i suppose it is bad from barcas fans side but as city fans our city's project is modeled upon their philosophy and hating United means hating ronaldo so we have soft corner for messi. So we have good feeling for Barcelona.

As I suspected, Messi is furious with Bartomeu trying to force him to say something. Messi is a nice guy, and you know when he's angry..... there's no turning back. Bartomeu wasn't going to resign in any case, he was just doing it to force Messi to say something.

Everything Bartomeu says and does turn to shit. The guy should be held accountable for his actions, and I hope the new board take him to court.

As a Barcelona fan, Messi deserves to be happy. I hope he gets his wish and leaves for free so Bartomeu gets absolutely nothing. He was getting carried by Messi for years, so he shouldn't see any benefits when Messi leaves.
