As a club why would you want a player on your books that wants out, costs a fortune in wages and can walk for free next season ? Surely you would want to at least get something for him now whilst you still have a chance ?

Mbappe would probably cost 200m. If Messi were at his peak now he'd be 400m+ But he isn't and he is in the last year of his contract.

Sane went for 50 something, but if you wanted to buy him from Bayern it would be more than double that.

So last year of contract, but probably still the best player in the world but only two seasons worth left, add in all the marketing value. 100m seems reasonable.

First post on here but always popped in over the years. Better late than never eh lol Regarding the Messi transfer I am increasingly doubtful about it happening in this window. I say this window because I think January may be more likely because of how nasty this is all gonna get with lawyers due to this release clause. I just cannot see it happening this summer. Plus I wouldn't put it past Barca trying to cup tie him in the CL to screw us over!
