I thought he was fantastic, even allowing for his flaws.

Great pity, like Bell, that 95% of his absolute best football is not on video.

I can remember stuff both did, clearer than I can remember most of about 30 years of stuff inbetween then & the modern era.
 
At 33 and a few months, Juventus paid €88M (and €12M in agents fees).

If we can’t get Messi on a free, I wouldn’t go close to that. I have no inside knowledge, but I believe he wants to come to City.

I think don’t think his level will drop for at least two years and think we’ll pay a fee if he signs, I also think that if we pay a fee it’ll come out of Messi’s overall package

I think it will spell the end for Mahrez if he signs so I’d shift him at 29 and swap the place out in the team.

If this is on we simply have to get it done.

I think Barça will refuse the free and Messi would play for them again as I can’t see him going on strike, at 34 if he were to active the clause next year I think Barça would probably want the wages off their books anyway.

How much is an unmotivated and potentially disruptive Messi worth to them for 1 year??? That’s the question... At £52M in wages I’d guess at about £30M.

We should stay well out of this once we’ve agreed a package for him based on a free and that’s exactly what I think we’ll do.

If Barça come to us and say we want rid we’re in a strong position.

You don't want that. The biggest limitation Liverpool have right now is that their owners aren't interested in spending much money outside of the bargain bins. Giving them money is not a good idea. We're better off riding the storm and waiting until their players all lose resale value in 2/3 years time.

Exactly so giving them 100m means they'll shop like that again as they did thanks to the 140m they got for Coutinho.

As it stands they're buying players we've never heard of and haggling over 30m for a world class midfielder. That's better.

1st post & you drop a bollock!!
Clubs can register up to 3 new players for knock out stages of CL if they’ve signed in January, regardless of them having already played in Europe in the same season.
New rule brought in last season I think
