No but we get the chance to see how he plays in 2020. I bet he'll still score 20 plus next season. Who guarantees that. I used to be the lone voice arguing against signing Messi cos I thought he was too old but this would be a free transfer.
Free? I am certain that Messi's representatives will make sure its not free. We get him now or not at all. Today we get 2 good seasons out of him for a price. I wouldn't pay the same money for just one good season.

He'd just get the 'transfer fee' in his wages

Foden is the most talented young player I have seen but have you seen the debut goal Messi scored aged 19. I think it was against Levante. He ran from the half way line and beat player after player. 33 year old Messi doesn't score that goal

That wasn’t his debut goal. His debut goal was a volley chip over the keeper

The one you are thinking of was V Getafe. Interestingly the same amount of touches Maradona had scoring V England

Neither have you seen it by the sound of it

Can't believe the nightmare that Messi and Barcelona find themselves in. Messi does himself few favours but I can see that this is an incredibly tough decision to make and place to be in. As for Barcelona they have really damaged their image big time and, considering their financial problems, just committed to paying Messi's massive loyalty bonus plus wages without the prospect of getting Messi to sign a new contract and having a superstar player in their midst that doesn't want to be there. Potentially all in a near empty stadium for the first few months as well!

Now the spotlight is going to going to be on everything that happens on the pitch and off it. Like, imagine the look on Messi's face if they lose their first match!

All today has told us is that Barca are not willing to let him leave for free. The Interview has told the world he is not happy, wants to leave and the club has broken a promise made to him. Throughout this last week there have been rumors of £80m + Garcia.... could this still be the route that could still see a deal made? if not they still have to pay the last year of his contract and bonuses to a player who doesn't want to be there.

You know what a free transfer is.

He is not going to leave now and if he did decide to go on a free other clubs will be involved
Definitely other clubs will be in for him in Jan but surely we have an advantage there with Pep.

I think Messi would leave Barca for sure if we agreed a transfer with barca but I don't think they would accept. They are stupid. But I think we might try.

The only downside is simon fucking Jordan not spitting feathers if we had signed him. Would have pissed him and shouty man off immensely. They hate city as I am sure White has no informers at the club and he is clearly totally in the dark with our deallings and it really grates with him as he can't be " right across the situation"
The spite and bile that comes out of that idiot about our club is unbelievable.

And the club, clearly. Unless you seriously think it's coincidence that Pep, Txiki and Soriano all rocked up in Barcelona last week? Not to mention all the trusted sources who said he wanted to come to us.

You're talking out of your arse mate but I've heard your bollocks enough to know you fancy yourself over any mind in football.

Your deluded shite would be laughed off more often if you didn't spend so long waffling towards your point so much that most people paying attention switched off halfway through.

Thanks for that excellent read.
Klopp, Guardiola, and Low, have all forgot more about football than I have ever known.. Yet all three believe Gundoghan is an elite footballer., you think he is Shite.
