Barça and Madrid are about one thing...

Spanish castillian nationalism v republican / Catalan seperatism
Without it there is nothing meaningful about football in Spain
Real Madrid were the seminal moment for any "sportswashing"

I have no feel for Txiki and returning to Barca. Pep, there's no question he returns - just a question of when & in what capacity. Ideally, Pep would take over La Masia as the director of the youth program. Puyol is rumoured to be part of Font or Laporta's project as SD and of course Xavi as coach

I wouldn't advocate for Pep's return to coach the 1st team (How could he top what he already did?) although it'd be a great story - I see him coming back to the youth teams. Plus, as other have correctly pointed out, he hates the political BS and would prefer to stay out of the crosshairs of local media. Catalunya is his home as is Barca as his club, the return is inevitable

Think Pep has other projects in mind and others have him in mind first before he returns.

The links/rumours of him going to Italy are not coincidental and too consisitent to have no basis in them. He has mentioned managing in Italy himself and it also make sense - he will have managed in every major league then.

He may also want to manage a national team as well - this has been mentioned previously as well on numerous occasions. One would presume it would be Spain but it could be other national teams - there would be a long lit of suitors for him and some very big and attractive offers.

I have no doubt he would return to Barca at some point - but make no mistake about it -he is also quite pissed off at them as well and he has deliberately called them out previously for thw way the club has handled themselves (and Messi has just done that on a much grander scale) - Barca are a great club and play absolutely wonderful football and for me if it was a choice between them or Madrid to support it would be Barca every time for me but the club is a mess from an organisational and structural point of view - the politics and power grabs by people are wrecking it.

You have a considerable rebuild needed and that is going to possibly prove even more difficult now Messi has said what he has (whether he eaves or not - other top players listening to that interview will think twice before joining). You chairman could be arrested and again that will put top players and managers off (including Pep)

I'm not writing Rodri off he's a decent player but not for DM. Ake and Torres for me are squad players but may surprise. We lost nine league games last season and unless we address our weakness at the back this season will follow a similar pattern.

I don't know why anyone would call Torres a squad player other than because he cost £20m.

This is Spain's most talented u21 player, he is a youth prospect on the level of Foden, at least as good as Sané was when he joined. A player Spain's big 2 would have loved to sign, but Silva & Pep got us to the front of the queue.

Oh but because we took Valencia to the cleaners as he ran his contract down, he's just a squad player...

Real and Barça are the Celtic and Rangers of Spain.

Ake and Kali will address it ,power and speed,i think ake will surprise you , it is easy to overstate our problems at the back, truth is we didn't replace vinny , he didn't give us any notice,we had planned on him staying another year and Eric was out all season

I hope you're right and he rips up defences this season.

I'll feel more confident of we get Kali.for sure.

...who's from Switzerland. He's a Barca marketing depts wet dream; even prepared to repeat their cringy marketing guff on a City forum to City fans with a straight face. Good lad. Have another biscuit.
Jesus Christ, seriously? It’s worse than I thought.

“Cule” does make me cringe. They’ve tried the same thing here with “Cityzens” and I don’t know a genuine City fan who doesn’t find it cringy bollocks.

I suspect the real Barca fans probably feel the same about our “Cule, this means more” friend.

I always see these people as thieves. They steal the existence of supporting a club with a trophy cabinet because their local side happens to be 'crap'. At least those supporters of that 'crap' side can wear their medals with pride, and not walk about with a chest full of stolen medals while looking down their noses at every other c@@t. It's why it always makes me laugh when united reply with "You support a load of shit!" with their Durham accents. They are nothing but cowards for taking the easy way out. You couldn't get any more plastic yet the clubs that usually chuck this accusation about are the clubs that are fucking full of em.

"There are no messages of support from his teammates. This has surprised and hurt Leo Messi"

I was really surprised none of the old lot supported him. Xavi, Pique, Puyol, Iniesta. They were all desperate to speak in the media when Neymar was going to leave, none of them said a word for Messi.

I really thought they'd be saying publicly that the club should be honouring the spirit of the contract with Messi.

And silence since his interview.

I expect more of this, dressing room splits etc etc. Chess game ongoing.

An amazing coincidence that these people always latch on to the most successful clubs isn’t it? Bet there aren't many Girona or Espanyol fans in Switzerland

But but, according to all the drama queens in here, we overpay for every player we buy ......

I am pretty shocked none of the players or ex-players supported him trying to get a move, they never had trouble speaking up or against Bartomeu in the past.

It really seems like they're more interested in the short term benefit of Barcelona than their friend/teammate. Which is unlikely to make him feel like staying.

Hopefully just the beginning in more public showings of how unhappy he is, and maybe it'll garner some public support for his cause.

Or it makes hom feel more trapped and with no choice or way out.

Yep. It’s like the Irish United and Liverpool supporters. Is it just a coincidence that they support the biggest and most successful clubs in England. Easy route.

My memory is not was it was.
Are you the Barca fan who was adamant that Pep wouldn’t come here?

Not sure about the terminology of ‘fan’ for this plastic.... ‘follower’ maybe who will struggle to support his chosen club as the wheels continue to come off and mediocrity sets in good and proper...... I predict that he will probably move onto PSG

1) He didn't call them shit. He complained about the lack of direction in a sporting project that has had 3 managers in 6 months, spent €150m on a player who they sent on loan, and gave Neymar a buyout clause that could be easily reached instead of the €700m bullshit he got. And is now letting players go for big losses just to free up space to sign Depay.

2) He probably expected support during the 2 weeks he was trying to leave and the board were using a cunts trick to try and make him sue to leave? Back to the Neymar saga they were all in the press saying they loved him and hoped he would stay but understood if he left. Which, he is, but saying it is a bit pants.

Also I hope he does do another video, I hope he does 5.

He called them shit, old, and hole plugs. you can expand and redirect it, but bottom line, he placed himself above , the team and his fellow players.
