He's a 20 year old lad. I'm sure most of us did a lot worse things at his age than meeting up with a girl in a hotel. Regardless of covid, look how many people meet up now in normal society, pubs and restaurants are open. He probably just didn't believe there was any real risk at his age.

Phil wasn't around in the "good old days" when players did what they want with whomever they wanted and never got found out so it's a ridiculous comparison to make. He knows the importance of the restrictions, they are the same whether he is with a City squad or with England. Agree it's down to him on whether he learns from it or not...it's his life and his career that's at stake.

Erm....not a ridiculous comparison at all fella. Social media maybe the difference, but humans are still humans & will always make mistakes or do things they shouldn’t.

Cut the kid a bit of slack. He’s made a mistake, will face the consequences & hopefully learn from it. It really isn’t the end of the world.

Also Phil hasn't got any responsibility to me as a fan , the only thing I want from him, is for him to play his heart out on the pitch in a blue shirt .
Also I couldn't care less how much he gets paid, if he's well paid the club must think he deserves it !

I have no problem with how much Foden gets paid. My worry is that this whole episode will affect his performance on the field. He will be hammered in the media now and the pressure that creates can be horrific. I think it will damage City, at least in the short-term, and that will hurt the fans.
My other worry is that the very best players are usually very measured in the way they behave on and off the field. Think about people like David Silva, KDB, or Vincent Kompany. They have the right temperament to be world-class players. This episode puts a question mark over Foden's character, even at the age of 20. It was a crazy decision on his first England call-up. I hope he recovers from the fall-out.

From brief experience Scandinavian ladies as per this event are as intelligent, confident in themselves as any bloke out there x 10 . Its Phils girlfriend who deserves the sympathy . Maybe like Mrs Rooney, Terry, Walker and Ferdinand she will put this aside and still hope for the Hello Magazine wedding, better still tell the Stockport Inesta to do one and find someone to respect her and a potential step child.

It is quite simple if you ask me, he broke the COVID protocols in a lower risk country than England, got rumbled and has already been punished. We don't know if they did the deed or not, the lads could have decided against it and just had a few drinks and a bit of flirting to pass the time instead. Maybe the ladies only wanted to sell the story and had no intention of doing anything more than that, despite how they made it sound over the phone. Not that anyone would believe Phil even if that was the case, unfortunately for him.

Since he's already been punished and he's already held his hands up on his mistake and apologised, there's not much else to say. Who is anyone to say that's not good enough? "Apology not accepted Phil!". Give over.

Lets hope he gets the necessary tests to ensure it's safe to return to his family, I'm sure he will. They are the ones with a reason to be pissed off in this, not virtue signallers over social media.

We don't know the facts but if he played a key part in bringing those lasses back then I don't agree with what he has done and I'm not defending him.

Like it not not, footballers and WAGs are completely on a different level to us plebs and most tend to lack moral fibre. I don't understand the delusion that they are all role models.

There is a video that shows the girls talking to Phil and Greenwood on a phone and arranging to go to the hotel. It doesn’t look or sound good at all and I am pretty sure that it’s Phil doing the arranging. Piss poor from the both of them....
