I agree it's a different lifestyle mate, but it's definitely comparible. The amount of times lads used to fuck up when on a foreign run and get fucked for it. Its a learning curve, a harsh one but a lesson all the same.

Spot on mate, end of the day he's a footballer , I hate now the media have put all this "role model" " moral guardian" shite in the minds of people !
I put it down to bitter journalists that hate the fact the some kids from council estates that are good at kicking a football get paid 2 and 3 times what they do . If we need role models , let it be Politicians and public servants like the police !

As harsh as it is, it isn't our concern what happens in his private life, his mrs will do that. If there wasn't a pandemic going on and he met these girls, he'd still be with the England squad.

"bitter journalists... because footballers get paid 2 or 3 times what they do"? Show me a journalist who gets paid 1/3 (?!?!) of a Premier League footballer, and I will show you one very happy very much unembittered journalist!!

The country is already struggling with increasing covid levels, confirmed by the government to be youngsters not able or willing to follow social distancing, and he and his raggy mate do that.
He is in a very high position of influence to the younger generation, and he will have been told that many times over.

Strangely, some on here don't have any problems with his actions, each to their own standards I guess.
 
People need to wake up and get a grip.

This is a famous 20 year old, multi-millionaire footballer, one of the brightest talents of the young generation, playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

He could have a line up of girls all the way down to the foyer of that hotel and then right up to the airport if he wanted to. They would be throwing themselves at him. Whether people like it or not he's only human, and this is what countless footballers do, regardless of whether they have a partner or children.

The mistake he's made is doing it with the virus restrictions and getting caught - that's pretty much it.

Sorry didn't know journalists are so badly paid .
So what are journalists on £150 a week ?
 
Our Academy has at least given young lads a great start and over 100 have fulfilled careers in the game. However has it ever produced a real star in the last 30 years spent 24 hours now thinking about this since Phil’s misdemeanours.
In my view the closest we came was
Paul Lake - but denied thru injury
Michael Johnson - injury and booze not sure in which order
Possibly a self proclaimed Superman

which makes you realise the only one which every kid should look to was Shauny Wright Wright Wright
- came from a difficult background
- had that idiot step father distraction in his life And career
- stuck with us when not being used in the start of his career ( like Phil)
- never complained never gave any stories
- won 36 England caps
- never complained and accepted sacrificing his city career to save the whole club
- never sold the story
- returned to the club and simply continued where he left off
- never complained when he didn’t get into the semi or final fa cup teams
- never complained about racist attacks notably on England duty ( FA offered no support)
- great family man lovely kids ( from a very young age )
- couldn’t contain his joy at end of that qpr game
- just ignored that twat Southgate When he accused him of being a diver
- son in our academy

to quote the great man
“I just let the football do the talking”

With due respect to Merlin But if Phil wants a role model then he’d be well advised to seek out Shaun
 
Crazy world, moving so fast even ive moved on and just hope he , the mother of his kid and the nipper are ok and thats that ffs Mahrez, Jesus get onside, oh Kyle, 3 girls and a ferret, no excuses!

But he's fucked up and will he will need to cop the initial outrage on the chin - no point treating him like a baby.
 
I find it astonishing that on this thread there are people blaming Southgate, the FA, anything to convince themselves these two have been anything other than a massive pair of spoilt cunts.

People are trotting out age as an excuse....give it a rest, there is no excuse whatsoever. If you are in the England team you are rightly expected to be mature enough to take the responsibilities that come with it. Brilliant story for the grand kits..."tell me about your England debut grandad".

The one saving grace is that both of these two now owe England and their clubs big time both are talented enough to repay that debt big time. It has happened when they are very young and therefore hopefully the lesson will be learned and save them and us from any future bellendery.

As for the domestic consequences I wiould imagine both will have an interesting time of it when partners and parents get hold of them, I have no sympathy on that score other than for those who have been let down by them much much more than us fans.

Its not then end of the world and maybe in time will prove to be the boot up the arse both clearly needed and hopefully they will go on to have great careers....(even the rag...through gritted teeth).
