Yeah. Messi part 3.This time Pep’s brother is involved?
This time it's personal.

As long as we know what he’s having for lunch, I’m in.Yeah. Messi part 3.
This time it's personal.
I genuinely thought after messi said his decision was irreversible and he is willing for club to negotiate, bartomeu would have wanted the money because of the financial crisis. But he didn't give in.Graham hunter has done a Q&A podcast about the Messi situation.
Some interesting points, Some of it is the same info we already knew.
He believes Messi is still very unhappy and he could see city come in and make a bid.
He mentions something very briefly which was city was posturing saying they could only take Messi on a free.
It’s a small comment but perhaps city didn’t want to say they would buy him as once they did any chance of a freebie was gone.
And maybe bartemeu whole game plan was just to remove the possibility of Messi going on a free.
Hunter says bartemeu could come out the winner by saying he saw how unhappy Messi was and decided to help him. Thus getting the money and saying he won the Messi situation.
A lot of hearsay and opinion but fairly interesting.
I for one think it is over and done with.
By the time January comes, he won't want to leave. He arguably doesnt any more already.
Looking at messi alternatives according to sam lee.were also being linked with jeremy doku.belgian wonderkid.
What are you basing that on?
His interview.
That is how I seed it, I don't see any further desire to leave, just an acceptance that he did for a while, and now wouldnt.
His interview showed he absolutely still wants to leave but can't, not won't. What he didn't want to do is take Barca to court in an attempt to either leave for free or leave by buying out his contract.
Translation : CONFIDENTIAL - According to our sources, Manchester City are preparing a new offer for Lionel Messi, and it is Pep Guardiola's full brother, Pere Guardiola, who is in charge this time.
I don't think he is reliable.
But this last story of 200M city offer (fake obs) blew up with clarification coming in. This might as well or not.

I did not interpret it like Coatigan. It's true that a great deal could still change between now & January much less next June but I do not view the player as one that makes rash decisions regarding his career
I disagree, personally. To me it showed that for a moment, he did want to leave, and was prepared to. And aired why. But now he has accepted he'll stay (even if out of no choice as you say). Seems keen on putting it behind him for the season.
That's what I took from it, that is how i saw it. And that IS what he said. Till something else happens, if it does, that is where things are.
Felix?Yeah I saw the links with Doku, exciting player but
The reports said we would be loaning him out to get game time.
Sam lee said an alternative is being looked at but not heard a peep from anyone or anywhere that’s it’s going anywhere? Talk of Martinez but he’s looking like signing a new contract with inter.
From the highs of almost getting Messi to the lows of hearing Absolutely nothing is a real come down!

He wanted to leave and had an agreement in place to do so.
It's a case of doing the right thing and doing things right.
Doing the right thing would be acknowledging that the current pandemic threw that out and the actual end of the season happened much later. Doing the right thing would be acknowledging the huge contribution and almost 20 years of service Messi has devoted to Barcelona. Doing the right thing would be acknowledging that Bart even said "at the end of the season Messi can leave if he choses" in an interview. Doing the right thing would be to let Messi leave smoothly if he wants to with a huge thank you and good luck.
However, Bartomeu is in the 'doing things right' camp by insisting Messi stay because it stated a date in his contract because that 'should' have been the end of the season. If Messi had said before June 10th, whilst Barcelona were still in the Champions League, "Right Bart me ol' chum'. I'm out of here!" would Bartomeu have said "Fair enough Leo. It says right there that you can do that so cheers for everything."? Of course he wouldn't. He would have used the very argument that Messi did that the season hasn't finished yet.
So, Messi has been disrespected, shat on, lied to and threatened with legal action by his boss. He doesn't rate the manager, doesn't rate some of the first team players and generally thinks Barca is an absolute shit show right now and yet Messi wants to stay?
Do me a favour.
I 100% agree with all of that. I have said similar throughout this thread.
Note i said i think he has accepted he will stay. Which to me means he no longer wants to leave. For now at least, this season. What happens next season or january is a lifetime away (in football terms). But as things are, he isn't and won't be pushing for a move. Bartomeu certainky won't be pushing him out, and no club is likely to come in with offers unless one of the two happens.
I'm saying what i think of it and how i see it and i get that you disagree. aeither way, it is now a week since his interview. Literally nothing has changed.
