Do you pick your ball up and refuse to play every lunchtime at school if things don't go your way?......just asking.

When all said and done, people have a right to their opinion.

If it takes over 3 months for a Director of Football to negotiate a price with a club for a specific player, then you have issues. You either pay the price or move on to the next target.

We have to be harsh about the team sometimes to move forward. Be cruel to be kind, it sometimes is the only way.

If we all agreed that everything was all hunky dory, we would never improve. We should strive to be the best we can be, always.

Not at all.....politicians SHOULD make descions for the good of the country/people, BUT DO make them to suit their own interests......
City's hierarchy make decisions in the best interests of the club NOT themselves ;)

Ok then...

Txiki...

1) He doesn't have a good relationship with ADL and Napoli.
2) He communicates through an intermediary.
3) ADL has spoken to the media and shown his disdain at Txiki not talking to him directly.

Is Txiki not backing down and staying firm because he is trying to win a personal battle over ADL after he mugged him off with the previous dealings with Jorginho?

That is my feeling anyway. He wants to get one over on ADL, even if it means at the expense/detriment of Manchester City and Pep.

After all, wouldn't you rather see the player signed weeks ago so he is able integrate within the squad before the season starts?

I know i would. Even at the expense of 5-10m.

Do you think it’s taken the DOF 3 months to negotiate, or do you think he’s reported back to his bosses and between them they have decided a maximum bid and a deadline before moving onto agreed other targets.
Or is Txiki given carte blanche to do what he wants then when the window closes his bosses ask how we did?

Do you think ADL is the kind of bloke who would just take 5-10 mil & say 'great'.

Or will he say 'then next we have the add ons' ?

You tell me...

Chelsea have signed about 6 new players in the space of time that we have been "negotiating" with Napoli and still not got anywhere.

absolute shite

absolute shite

Well why not deal directly? Why not face the music and try and get this deal resolved sooner?

Txiki is as stubborn as Pep is. They won't back down until they get what they want.

Nobody can tell Pep he is wrong, because the more you tell him he is wrong, the more he will stick with the same formation/tactics and prove to you he is right. That is what Txiki reminds me of.

With Thiago going to Liverpool, Chelsea's strong rebuild, Tottenham's risky Bale purchase, Arsenal looking more potent and United looking better than previous seasons, what are your realistic expectations for the season considering we do sign a CB (preferably Koulibaly) ?

Could literally come down to how we do in the first week.

Can't say I'm too hopeful though. Looks like we don't have a striker that can be relied upon to score consistently going into the season and if Sterling doesn't score in the first game or two can see him having one of his baron spells.

If I had to guess today I would say 4th, as even though we have consistently been top scorers i just don't feel that we have enough goals in the team if our heads are down from the inevitable Champions League hangover.

But, if Aguero stays fit and we win the first two games with Sterling playing with confidence (and Liverpool actually have the odd injury here and there) then heres hoping that we can fight for the league and maybe win it!

Chelsea haven’t signed 6 , we’ve signed 2. All teams are still working on transfers to complete their squads, we need 1 more it’ll be done when it’s done.
It’ll be done by the same group of people, from Khaldoun, Soriano, Txiki, Berrada, Pep that have been doing this for years and delivered squads that win things. My wild guess is they are pretty good at it and know the transfer business pretty well.
If you beleive Txiki doesn’t constantly report and discuss with his bosses then you don’t understand how the club works and haven’t watched the All or nothing films.

Positivity cmon be positive. Im just happy we get to see city play again, Only worry i have this season is left back, i was worried about midfield but we wont have a destroyer , Pep likes a playmaker in the CDM postition Rodri is perfect for that.

Our front three are some of the best in the league we have added Torres whos an amazing talent. backline has improved with Ake , a defence of Walker, Ake. Laporte, Mendy is still a really good defence LB maybe just a blip. Would like another CB just for cover since stones get injured alot and otamendi seems to be off. i think we will be better than last season this season as we have actually improved ares we needed to, also no Sane last season less pace on the wings with torres we correct that.

Whilst the window is not yet closed meaning I hope my comment is premature but if no one else is signed then it is a poor window and questions need to be asked of not only the policy but the application of it.
Consider we have lost David and Leroy.
We have also lost Fernandinho. If people think he is going to be the midfield force he was as of 2 years ago there is no evidence I can see for that. Aguero can't be relied on for the whole season even if injury free - he's 32 now.
There is still no VK
Our key players are going ot be knackered if they are playing after game, internationals etc.
WE HAVE NOT REPLACED IN ANY OF THOSE POSITIONS.
That and games last season that we lost too easily coupled with the fact competitors have all strengthened plus the fact that no one knows what Pep will be doing suggests to me we won't improve on last season.
It's only 1 game into the season but we've already seen the cannon fodder being. easily beaten so competitors are already ahead of us.
Txiki needs to get things sorted given the fact we are not exactly cash strapped.
i didn't know you stopped scoring goals after 32, someone should tell Sergio and Swede big conk who is much older, or fake ronny or loads and loads of others

Okay so if FFP is an issue why aren’t we signing Thiago for 22m because he’s an upgrade on what we have.

I can only image that:

1. We have no room with foden, gundo, silva. With Dave leaving you could argue that we have space.
2. Pep does not want to work with him for a 3rd time.
3. Maybe we are after someone else.

I am not saying FFP will stop us spending but it will stifle us somewhat. In an ideal world we need a lb,cm,cb,cf but we cant afford to buy all at once. Priority will be a cb unless messi is still an option.

Also Bayern would not of sold him to us for that price.
