Agreed that the rational conclusion would be a compromise and transfer. I expect this to happen eventually.

The concern for me is that this is not a rational negotiation from Barcelona's perspective, it's very emotional for them because of the long term relationship with Messi, the internal politics and the first team performance last season. I wouldn't be that surprised to see them maintain a wholly unreasonable stance.

Well that’s all very well but Messi’s legal team might want to tune into SSN who are telling a very different story. And why are we chasing Messi when Van der Beek was available FFS !

Well going off Tolmie's comments Bartomeu had better decide quickly whether he's going to negotiate a deal for barcelona.

If Messi's team are lodging papers with Fifa then they are obviously confident over the contract. I'm sure City's lawyers will have looked it over.
