He is hard to read sometimes. He looked absolutely delighted at the beauty of the second goal.

I thought he was a bit slow to react yesterday when we had our 15 min headless chicken spell. If nothing else, a sub would have slowed the game down for a couple of mins.

Seems worried about depth and lack of 5 subs, also not a fan of season restarting this early with players getting tested positive for COVID. Very understandable, it's made his job unnecessarily hard.

'Watching Take Us Home: Leeds United Season 1, Episode 4', and reminds me how Bielsa's behaviour makes me think of Pep's comment that he has to earn his contract here.

This kind of thinking aligns with Bielsa's approach, taking complete responsiblity, and wonder if Pep has learned this from him or is also why he loves him so much.

"Spy gate," Bielsa revealed as ridiculous following his "PowerPoint lecture," yet Leeds was still fined, most likely out of some kind of nonsense, yet when the club was fined 200k he ensured that he paid it himself!

The same man who let Villa get a free goal because he thought Leeds had scored unfairly! This is a man of high integrity.

When Pep says to us he has to earn his contract, my cynical side says this is a way for him to get out of jail free, but watching the series reminds me that it may be he genuinely thinks he possesses highly similar personality traits as Bielsa, where self-criticism and being honourable in the context of demanding perfection of himself and others is what this is really about.

He clearly finds press conferences an absolute chore and at a time with 7 first team players out and COVID affecting the squad, his mood is forgivable. I don't imagine his mood is helped by the current climate, in the sense of potential new players arriving late in the day: he is a planner, not an off the cuff guy. In performance terms, 2 games and 2 wins, one against a team we lost twice to last season.

Thought provoking, insightful and very plausible post that.

He/the club have bought shite. It stands to reason that if you replace players like Kompany, Fern, Sane and the rest, with players who are nowhere near their level, it doesn’t matter whether you are a world class manager, you will get progressively worse.

When the same things keep happening at the back where we somehow are 1-0 and playing kamikaze defending at the back in sorry but you can't just blame the defenders anymore, this is happening for over a year.

He's neglected the defence and it just doesn't look like they're being coached on positional play as a team and not individual and the biggest crime he has done is change a system where we had a energetic midfielder protecting the back four which worked for us to know having a slow midfielder where teams can just run through us at will.

I have no idea whats gone through his head to do that and it's pissing me off how it's so basic for teams to get through us and he's never changed it

He was brilliant for two seasons but they are a distant memory now, how long do we accept performances like today and let him get away with it just because he is Pep?

He was absolutely right when he said he has to deserve a new contract. Most managers stay at a club until they get sacked. Allowing Pep to dictate how long he wanted to be here has resulted in a loss of hunger from him and the players, today was as big a "cant be arsed" performance as you are ever likely to see. That simply doesn't happen under the Pep of 2 to 3 years ago. Regardless of the personnel.

When managers know they face the sack after a bad run it keeps them on their toes. My facebook is currently full of blues saying all the usual stuff e.g "cant believe people are wanting Pep out after everything he's done for us..." and that is the problem. If we keep accepting crap like today because he got us 100 points 3 years ago, then we will keep getting crap like today.

Khaldoon should be on the phone tomorrow to say "if things don't improve you're out". His hunger has gone and he needs a major kick up the arse. He is not, and should not, be unsackable.

Also, first City manager to concede 5 since Sven...
