The current squad is now good enough to win the title as long as we can have a fit striker for the remainder of the season
Exactly, this idea that if someone gets injured we’re fucked is mental because that's true of most teams. All we can do now is spend millions on our medical team instead of playersRegarding Kompany, we have bought Dias and Ake. If either is injured, we have Stones, THB, Garcia, Mendy and Zinchenko as cover. You may not like them, but there is no other team in the PL with that quality of back up.
Regarding the replacement of Silva, you could argue that he is irreplaceable as one of the world's greatest midfielders of the last decade. Equally, you could argue that in Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva, we have excellent players of potential world-class, ready to occupy his position.
Regarding Leroy, I believe that Ferran will prove to be his equal, at least. It's a matter of opinion and time whether that proves to be the case.
We did what? With who? Torres is decent but he'll never be as good as Sane, especially not in the next 3/4 years.
This window is heavily reliant on Laporte and Ruben forming a solid partnership. If Diaz struggles or either get injured we're in the shit. In just over 12 months we've lost Sane, Kompany and Silva - three huge players not just talent wise but personalities. We haven't replaced them with anywhere near their quality so if this transfer deadline day passes with no further signings then it will be a disappointing transfer window that promised so much a few weeks ago.
Yes, and I'm confident Torres would get a similar or better return.31 games 10 goals?
I would rather eat ants than watch Zinchenko, but I fear we may all be watching a lot of him by Christmas.
Ridiculous situation.
Point nailed. No team in history repeatedly buy players just in case others get injured.

For the price we paid he is a very good buy, I'm not disputing that or his quality.Torres is more savvy than Sane for in game thinking he is great buy
I still remember the report in the paper think it was Peter Reid saying he had a sweet left foot!Aw bless. Do you remember Alphonse Groenendijk ?

He hasn't, but we'll agree to disagree.I don't know you Jay_mcfc but your point marks you out as presumptuous and rude.
I am 52, born in Moss Side and have been a City fan from then, as are all my family. I am a fan of Leroy, I made that clear, but I believe, having watched Ferran since he was 17, that he has equal, if not superior, potential. That you disagree does not give you the right to lower yourself to 'fan-boy' criticisms, you just have a different opinion.
Open a can of peas with it!I still remember the report in the paper think it was Peter Reid saying he had a sweet left foot!

Spot on - my feelings exactlyI can’t see why people are saying we’ve not bought a left back. It’s obvious from Ake’s interview that he’ll be playing there a lot. I recon pep will end up coaching him up to make lb his main position. He’s sold, technical, a good defender and fast. Everything everyone on here is saying we need in a lb. We have mendy or Cancelo if we want to play someone who bombs forward, probably against weaker teams. Striker has been our main issue but you don’t just sign someone for 3 weeks. What happens in a few weeks when Jesus and Aguero are fit? We all love a signing but unless a superstar is available it’d be crazy to just sign someone for the sake of it. That’s what United do and are doing today by the looks of it. At full strength, I’m very happy with our squad. Diaz, Ake and Torres are great signings imo
To be fair Reidy was an ex toffee.I still remember the report in the paper think it was Peter Reid saying he had a sweet left foot!
It's impossible for every team tpo keep a team fit, we have a better and deeper squad than everybody else. Write down our 21 and compare it to any other teams 21 we'll be stronger.keeping players fit is going to be impossible ? i said yesterday that city and the players have 21 games and 6 international games before christmas ? that's about 11 weeks to play 27 games ?
this is asking to much of the players and we are wondering why teams are getting battered in shock defeats
maybe the FA and the premier league need to review its plans and keep the transfer window open all season
city have not a great squad anymore and we are short up front and need a striker, also a left back and attacking midfield player, losing david silva should have not been a big issue, but its shows why phil foden was not ready to take his shirt, little david silva was more to this team than we all thought he was ? when things got tight he would just take control and hold the ball and work his magic
Torres is more savvy than Sane for in game thinking he is great buy
Yeah let’s see where we finish this season and next. For the price we paid he is a very good buy, I'm not disputing that or his quality.
My last few posts are based on this as a transfer window rather than our squad as such. We have lost big players over the last few years which has seen us fall from being comfortably the best in the league to being 20 points behind first. Replacing Kompany, Silva and Sane with Diaz, Torres and Ake is a gamble that may not pay off. And I like all 3 players btw.

besides no left back worth mentioning as a defender and currently our defensive midfielders being either Ferna (who for me is still the best option) or the immobile Rodri (who does have his qualities but cant do it on his own) or Gundogan who for me personally is a waste of space in that role and leaves us hugely over exposed)The current squad is now good enough to win the title as long as we can have a fit striker for the remainder of the season
