I've no idea if Labour would have done any better, but I don't think they could have done worse. All the gifting of contracts to incompetent tory pals surely wouldn't have happened for one.

In terms of comms, you get the impression that Sturgeon actually gives a shit and isn't a compulsive liar at very least. That does matter to people. Boris Johnson is a despicable human being and a compulsive liar only out for himself and his cronies. Terrible comms is due to a lack of ability and most importantly a lack of empathy. He doesn't know how to connect to people on an actual human level, other than when being a clown fucking about, so he just can't get through to them. None of his team can as they lack an actual heart. So bored of being patronised and gaslighted by his lot. Fuck em.

I think independence isn't far from her motives and with Boris there it will be working out quite nicely.

Whitty would want rules that go back to do not leave the home except for essential reasons on a permanent basis. Which is not realistic.

it’s difficult to really analyse the numbers when the testing is so poor.

it was inevitable that numbers would go up at this time and there has to be an acceptance that this will happen. It’s so easy to say that 1 death is too many but if we operated like that for every illness or risk we would never leave the house, walk by a road, drive a car, breath the same air as others etc...

I get some inadvertent passage of virus from young to old but if a teenager passes it to THEIR grandparent it is the conscious decision of both parties to allow the contact to take place between the two.
Dont be ridiculous, this is a highly contageous deadly virus , not at like driving a car or walking by a road , whitty is the dr , of course he wants to go further , his job is to save lives, he did say they are trying to balance heath v the economy and it is not easy

As for the contact young with old , it is 45 and up that are going into hospital , anyone of any age can have underlying health conditions these days

Edit , that came over harsher than i meant it

They aren’t using hard hitting enough language!

Whitty then was saying “if you all hadn’t been doing what you have been over the last few months, these numbers would be worse”

It’s all far too soft!

What he should be saying is “if you were all sticking to the rules, the numbers would be lower. Breaking the rules leads to people losing their jobs and businesses and people dying so stop breaking the rules you stupid selfish people. We will fine you, we will arrest you, you are killing people, so stop”!

Enough of his conversations with Boris and Cummings what about the public?

In the words of my maths teachers, with Sturgeon you can see her working out and how she got the answer, you may well think its the wrong answer but know how she got there. With Boris every answer seems like a wild stab in the dark, you’re not even sure he thinks he’s got the right answer or knows how to get there.

Absolutely crazy Manchester is not in tier 3.
Looking at the idiots in the Trafford Centre at weekend, looking at some of the students who dont give a fuck and looking at the muppets not bothering with masks.
We should be 3, I'll give it until November to be proven wrong.
Why would it be? It looks like it peaked and now there’s a steady decline in new cases.51A25C8C-54A1-46BC-84C9-DBFF53C2E11E.png

I don’t get this closing pubs but not ones that serve food? Are there rules around this?
There are supposed to be, you should have to book a table, the tables should be far enough apart (ie not 1m where you can't do 2m), alcohol only with a main meal, everyone should be giving there true name and address for track and (don't) trace etc etc. I've eaten out 3 times since July, not been actually asked for any of it at any establishment, it's only when I've asked that it's shown to me. Generally those in the food industry proper (ie charge decent prices for their food and your custom) are already shit hot on hygene, they have to be or either people won't come, or they'll get shut down for making people ill. Every corner "pub" will no doubt now start doing "food" and become a restaurant, or a "takeaway", and carry on as they were, because there is nobody to police it anyway.

More mixed messaging all day today, piled onto already bad mixed messaging over the last few months, and still nobody is aiming the messaging at the people who need to hear it most. How many will have actually watched Van Tam this morning, Boris in Parliament this afternoon, or these 3 this evening, I'd be surprised if 30% of the country saw any of it, most of those with the TV on when they started will have turned over.

The majority of the young don't watch TV, just netflix et al, and it's never on there, and these companies will never allow it on their platforms because they go on too long for the majority of this country, who have a very short attention span.

The messaging needs to be being put out by those who people look up to from sport or music or whatever is interested, stick it on the front of some reality TV show, with no warning it's coming, make it brief and to the point, graphics are great, but when the most salient slide is the 14th you've seen, 95% of the population have already missed the 12 before it.

Yes for now
But did you see the idiots in the Trafford centre on Saturday?
Panicking over Christmas shopping, a lot not bothering with masks or social distancing.
The entitled brigade will relegate us to Tier 3 in a few weeks, I'll guarantee it.

Don't believe everything you read in the press. Unless you are it with your own eyes take it with a pinch of salt. The videos I've seen were quieter than a weekday and the queues were to get into shops as the capacity is massively reduced. Was also confirmed by someone who works there.

Similar to the MEN story about Manchester having one last night out on Sunday night. Town is dead and all the pictures that could get were very small groups of people walking out of bars with no one else in the background.

My best mate is licensing officer for one of our local councils. It is definitely being policed mate.

So why are the press twisting the narrative and the facts?
To me The Trafford Centre should be locked and shut, the place is a joke and as we hit the winter months more idiots will frequent the place and the virus loves the indoors.
