Scousers were at it again last night with large crowds, no distancing and party atmosphere to “celebrate” the pubs closing.
It is very difficult not to be seriously peeved off with this now, call me selfish but that’s how I feel. I guess we were all wrapped up in the novelty and doing the right thing during the first lockdown, now part of me thinks just get on with life, it is what it is. I Dab in to social media once every 3 / 4 weeks and logged off straight away when I read the first comment telling me to stay in doors and fight this thing. Mentally I don’t care anymore. I’m at the stage where I think mental health is more importantI think you see evidence even on here and now that is starting to happen to people. Its very clear that unless something changes the amount of people suffering more severe mental problems is going to be huge come next spring.
I am afraid that even almost becomes insignificant at the global instability this thing is beginning to cause, an instability that grows ever more dangerous and closer to triggering all kinds of conflicts across the world. Each month that goes by with no winning blow struck in this war on the virus makes it ever more likely that bigger more deadly wars will follow.
The more advanced and powerful nations have probably got til early spring to get this underway beyond that I can see some incredibly dangerous days ahead.
’The scientists’?I don't think I'd pick any to be honest, what we need in charge right now is the scientists who understand it, and are not influenced by politicians.

Several were heard saying 'Hey la. Have youse seen dat coat dat dat feller over dere is wearing?'they really are a vile bunch. I was there at weekend and grown men in there 40s prancing around in Boss tracksuits and chavvy Nike trainers with that ridiculous accent. What a shithole of a place that is.

The resits for exams that were missed in the Summer are coming up in November. We will be back in a full lockdown once they are over, IMO.I’m all for a 2,3,4 week or however long lockdown.
and as stringent as you can get. Close everything. Everyone stay indoors etc.
but I just know... after that period is up ... and we all slowly go back to work etc, pubs opening ... it will just be a matter of time before the sky breaking news yellow bar appears showing an increase in daily infections again, followed by the death toll.
it really feels like there’s no way of avoiding it. Just delaying it is all we can do.
Not one for defending scousers but I have a mate who works in concert square and speaking with him this morning the “party” held last night was the student population and before you ask he isn’t a scouser defending his own .Scousers were at it again last night with large crowds, no distancing and party atmosphere to “celebrate” the pubs closing.
Just read the last 60 odd pages on here and fuck me its a depressingly grim read.
Everything is fucked at the minute and I for one am struggling a bit mentally, I can deal with it at the moment but the lack of any kind of hope is slightly eating away at me.
Having said that its the kids im more worried about if they close the schools my 9 year old girl would be in an awful place we just about got her through lockdown if there were to be another one ive no idea how she (or we) would cope. My 16 year old lad is due to take his GCSEs this year, he's absolutely fucked, having missed 4 months of school last year he's already had to have 2 weeks off this term like the rest of his year because 1 kid tested positive its going to impact massively on his future and there seems to be absolutely fuck all in the way of a plan to deal with anything. He's a resilient tough lad but surely there's got to be some kind of worries knocking about within him.
The way this whole thing has been dealt with has been nothing short of utterly, utterly, shambolic.
only so many Top 100 lists I can produce to entertain you lot.
The voice of reason. Fancy becoming prime minister........?It is shite no doubt about that but one positive is that Spain's cases who are a few weeks in front of us have levelled off without any real lockdown, so there is a good chance that will happen here if we base this on the previous patterns. Deaths aren't escalating like they did earlier in the year, there is better treatment available and the weekly death count is where it is expected to be at this time of year. Covid is still only responsible for around 2% of all deaths so there needs to be some perspective.
They try and deliver these lockdown measures to coincide with Tuesdays increased figures to get this exact reaction, they want us to be scared so we follow the rules, which I understand.
What have China done differently to the rest of us? Yes they hide stuff and you can never take face value what they say, they have a population of 1.3 billion and they are ploughing on regardless now compared to where they were in January. We have a population of 66 million and the country is in a slow paralysis. If they were hiding infections and deaths it would eventually materialise there’s always dissenting voices in China that will let the outside world know.
Is it their prior knowledge of what to with sars in 2002. You look at Japan population of 128 million, double the U.K. and they have 90,000 cases confirmed whilst the U.K. is pushing past 600,000.
Do we look at the collective populations of these countries and their ability to conform to do what they are told (or carted off to a prison camp in China). Whilst in the U.K. our mentality is ‘I’m not doing that’.
On vaccines it’s thought that around 3 in China are lot closer to being approved than anything the west is producing. They’ve been injecting it into all military personnel since the summer, is it working and are they rolling it out to the wider population as lab rats so they can flog it to the world? I would imagine with politics in play the U.K. and US would be right at the back of the line for that.
