Interesting to read your viewpoint. It's very similar to a lot of Brexit arguments. If it's what the Scottish people genuinely want then I hope you get another ref in around 5 years time and make your cut. I'll be sad to see Scotland go though, I hope total independence doesn't stop us being close friends as countries.

I'm absolutely positive it will probably build a better relationship as both countries will govern themselves and likely work together but from a level grounding. Scotland and England are intrinsically linked and rely on each other, however it is very obvious that the mindset of both countries are very different.

I see it as two siblings staying in the same house that constantly bicker. Its just time for Scotland to move out. Doesn't mean the bond between both countries will disappear.

I think Covid has obviously impacted the referendums momentum as it takes a back seat. Once it's passed i expect full steam ahead.

But it would mean separate currencies etc, so we can each manage fiscal policy to our individual interests.
I can see the anger it causes in Scotland to be managed by Westminster, so you might be right it's best for both.

58% of Scots would vote for independence given a chance according to the latest poll just reported on ITV News. This theory from some of the Brexiteers that the Scots wouldn’t risk leaving the UK seems to be the bullshit that most people capable of a bit of objective analysis said it was.
