£7,360 per day.

Corruption and back handers was't invented by the Tories, you'd think it was with the white noise doing the rounds.

Is it wrong? Of course it is but it's endemic whatever government is in power and generally that applies to any other nation too.

Absolute ridiculous corruption that goes unchallenged. If this was France they would be fucking rioting in the streets. I always find it amusing how people of this country fail to see how blatantly corrupt it is.

Its the same game with the NHS. They spend billions on consultants that know fuck all about health care only to be told what any working Dr of nurse could have told them in the first place.
I don't disagree with the fact that some parts of the NHS are wasteful in getting help with their data, but that last paragraph is simply untrue. What's your expertise on the matter?

"In relation to trusts, based on the information we have available, spending on consultants amounted to £419m in 2014-15 and £301m in 2015-16. We do not yet have the figures for 2016-17."

Almost half a billion spent on consultants in 2014, yes that's just consultants.

I'm not saying that they aren't needed but given failure is a byword for many public projects you wonder if we are getting any 'bang for buck' on most spending.

All of my children were under the care of a certain Dr Sharpe ant North Manchester Crumpsall, at no time did this mysterious Dr see my ex missus, I suspect however that he got paid for having his consultancy name on the forms.

We’ve not had any other government that have implemented laws to allow them to circumvent the usual tender process to be fair.

To think this is just the way it is is just wrong and very dangerous.

Every government was and is at it, it's a syptom of politics today and to dent that it has gone on for decades is dangerous and wrong.

Spend is one thing, where the money comes from is another - my contract was often only renewed once they'd got external funding in place. That funding could come from various places so looking at the cost of consultancy is only part of the picture.

No they aren’t and no it hasn’t. You’re looking at it from a political lens and not a legal one. No government has ever put into law anything like what this one has in order to facilitate what they’re now doing.

I'm not looking at it through any lens I voted Labour last time out of the blocks, if you're telling me that Labour last time round didn't ride the gravy train then it's you that is looking at it through the political lens.

So you would rather there were no consultants, who do you see instead? the Milkman, the woman across the street, Bob the Builder?

Plus its hardly the Billions and Billions you made out

Do people realise that when you get an appointment to see a Doctor, they are consultants? An hospital appointment is a consultation with your HCP and a Consultant is a wrap around name for an HCP

No doubt they saw one of his registrar's who are answerable to him. In a busy hospital clinic one Top guy like your mysterious Doctor will be there and his registrars will do the consultations. They will report to him if in doubt and he will decide. Its a hub and spoke form of delivering clinical care. It happens in the clinics I visit. If you really wanted to see your mysterious Doctor, ask at reception to see him specifically and he usually will see you. It doesn't affect your healthcare however if you see registrar, they are all qualified just not as high up the pecking order.

Thanks for the reply pal, the inner workings of institutions is a minefield.

Blueinsa would watch the world burn if he could still have his tory government.

As ever, you and @Len Rum manage to show a spectacular lack of knowledge of how the real world works.

Still......one day soon, just dont hold your breath comrades you will have your socialist utopia and we will all work the land, own the same flat and drive the same car all in the name of the Motherland.

At that level of pay where is the incentive to make the process work?

You can imagine them dragging this out to make their own financial gain the priority.

These traditional Labour voters sure love sticking up for this government. They're all the same blah blah blah to any form of criticism pathetic.
