Do people realise that when you get an appointment to see a Doctor, they are consultants? An hospital appointment is a consultation with your HCP and a Consultant is a wrap around name for an HCP

No doubt they saw one of his registrar's who are answerable to him. In a busy hospital clinic one Top guy like your mysterious Doctor will be there and his registrars will do the consultations. They will report to him if in doubt and he will decide. Its a hub and spoke form of delivering clinical care. It happens in the clinics I visit. If you really wanted to see your mysterious Doctor, ask at reception to see him specifically and he usually will see you. It doesn't affect your healthcare however if you see registrar, they are all qualified just not as high up the pecking order.All of my children were under the care of a certain Dr Sharpe ant North Manchester Crumpsall, at no time did this mysterious Dr see my ex missus, I suspect however that he got paid for having his consultancy name on the forms.

I can grab a team of 4 together for that amount a day and do a better job. Assume it's paying a company that rather than the consultants day rate.
