There is a lot more than the flat 23 m though ? Lots of other money going in via other ways ?

Hope you guys comply though , it is tough i understand but if you do then it will be over quicker

The numbers of cases, admissions etc in the last ten days postering in manchester and surrounding areas is sobering

It’s not about the money we’ve missed out on from govt, for me. It’s that the govt can’t prove that the hospitality industry are the cause of the rise in cases and hospital admissions and that closing that industry is fucking pointless and will just lead to job losses/business closures.

The gym I attend and the coffee shop I go to (the only places I go to as a person living on their own who isn’t in a bubble) have had ZERO cases! Why are they fucking shutting?

It’s backwards. Close down the places where the cases are worst: eg. schools - have just Year 6, Year 11 and Year 13 every day and alternate other year groups on other days. Heavily fine those who are visiting different homes in restricted areas, emplore neighbours to grass people up for having gatherings at their houses, have Police patrolling the streets... because it’s house-to-house transmission where the problems lie, not my fucking gym!

We’ve got to have been the most uncompliant area in the country. Manchester’s been a fucking disgrace since about May when it’s come to abiding by the rules!

Of course you can, this isn’t a business deal you can just walk away from. The mayor believed the north was being short changed with the financial support being offered and stood his ground for the sake of the region, Boris and his chums have been embarrassed by this and this is his way of payback “we offered you 60, your mayor said we need more now you’re getting 20” the mayor asked for it because we need it, it wasn’t a greedy salesman’s holding out for the most he can get to give less than what was being offered is a despicable act, he’s playing with peoples lives just to play billy big bollocks and show who’s boss.
I agree that 'this isn’t a business deal you can just walk away from' but that's exactly what Burnham turned it into, a business deal. Unfortunately due to Burnham's actions the people of GM have lost out. That said if people had done what they should have done in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess. 241 reported deaths today, just remember that

Apart from the damage to kids this would cause, who would look after them?

People having to take time off work or elderly relatives.

Liverpool numbers worse hence extra restrictions

Was still a local authorities decision. Seen all the gyms in Liverpool have stayed open and there is a crowdfunding campaign going on to pay any fines. Up to 52k earlier and will be donated to local mental health charities if the fines get rescinded.

Honestly where I am down here in the south east everyone is socially distancing and everyone is wearing face coverings in shops etc. cannot believe some of the horror stories from posters on here about people not wearing masks etc.

Becomes a time when people have to take responsibility for their actions and not just blame everybody and anybody

Good point. Primary schools then maybe don’t have to as they are small in general anyway.

But teenagers are more than capable of being at home on their own, most of them are in the school holidays anyway, most of them are from 15:30-18:00 on school days.
