Thank you for making me double check. You are absolutely right.

The total today is correct at 2062 cases but that is actually well DOWN on yesterday - not up - I forgot to tally yesterday as it was late and that was 2330.

So today was actually a very good fall. Also just 40.1% of the NW total today v 44.7% yesterday

Too many late nights staring at numbers.

Thank you for spotting this.

Makes a nice bit of better news for the end of the day.

you could not be further from the truth. Yes I am a proud blue. But the offer of 60 million would have taken people to 75p in the pound.

By the way the tests today were only 233,686 pillar 1 & 2 - versus 280,884 yesterday when 2527 LESS cases were found from 47,000 more tests. That is somewhat worrying. Or maybe good news. No idea any more!

The problem comes if the accomodation refuse to honour your booking as you're leaving a tier 3 area,

But that’s what the Gtr Mcr council leaders are saying the government does not have. They asked to be shown proof that the hospitality industry is causing the rise, the government couldn’t show it.

In fact people are saying it’s more house to house transmission, schools and universities.

My point was about 240 deaths not being sobering. There are times of year when that many people die of flu but nobody blinks twice when that happens

I know what you mean, i have said elsewhere that further restrictions at this time of year will be felt a lot harder. It was something new in March, the weather was great and people were getting behind the protection of the NHS. Seven months latter the novelty has worn off, we are pissed off with the Government and the mixed messages, Dark nights are here and the weather is turning to shit.

Going to be a tough time ahead.

Just check they are still willing to accommodate you. My son had a weekend booked away last weekend and was told it would be cancelled if in Tier 3. Not sure how they can do that when it’s guidance only, but it was certainly on the cards.

The government hasn't just plucked industries to ban out of thin air. They'll have a reason for choosing the restrictions they have, whether they show anyone the proof or not.

So we can either rely on their information and act on it or just have a free for all.
