I was around the 4 Oldham offices, only 2 left, Aytoun St, Newton Heath, Tameside & Stockport for 30 odd years until I snapped up a package at 51 with a full pension, thank God for Government pilots having to work which gave me an opening to get out of fraud.

The cancers were all blood related....which is rarer in younger & early middle aged people. It did make me wonder about the water as there was an open tank on the roof allegedly.

Take care.
Glad you "got out" ;-)
You probably know a lot of old staff that I do...Jack Barnes, lynn chalmers, Adrian mitchell?

Thanks for the info and good wishes.

Our office is shutting for a week. 10 percent of staff tested positive in last 3 weeks. Union got on the case. Good decision.

11 Teachers in one school tested positive in the town my wife works in and 3 had to have treatment at hospital. The school closed unsurprisingly. It’s clearly highly contagious in confined spaces.

Yeah know Jack & Adrian was quite close to Ade for awhile...a bit of an acquired taste like Marmite.

I'll chuck in Pete L, Brendan B & Quinny into the pot but we're derailing the thread a bit ...

42,000 new cases in France. 300 deaths.

20,000 new cases in Spain. 231 deaths.

Yet again Norway, Iceland and Finland doing really well in comparison to most of Europe. Vitamin D or something else?

Smaller, spaced out populations compared to France and especially U.K. also generally fitter and healthier than France, Spain and especially U.K.
Generally also more knowledgeable, with higher educational levels, happiness levels etc etc.

comparing U.K. , France, Spain (and Belgium and Italy) is fine. You should throw in Germany as similar - and it’s their figures which are better per capita that need to be looked at, as to why.

Sorry, wasn't so much meaning to compare them with France, Spain, the UK as a whole etc. Completely agree with the points you've made, but more so the likes of Denmark, Sweden etc. I know Iceland is considerably smaller but Finland and Norway, being similar sized to both seem to be faring much better.

Size of country? Or population per sq mile?
The Nordic countries should be compared between themselves - especially with how Sweden forged a different path... and is now doing the same as everyone else. Iirc.

U.K., France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Spain and Germany are broadly similar- so should be fairly comparable (population , affluence, education, health, lifestyle ), to each other, whereas other really bad number places, like US, most of South America, South Africa, Iran, Iraq - have very different influences. Though the US is (in the more populated areas) similar to the U.K. overall.

So you cant claim the £500 for isolating if you are low paid unless you are contacted by someone and not through the app

Hancock stood up in parliament and said there is a button to press on the app to claim it but sky have shown him that there isnt one

sirens galore tonight.
In Manchester area?

I ‘escaped’ on Thursday night to see Mrs JASR for 1st time in 2.5 weeks (and deliver her her shopping list of prescription drugs, which she was running out of - being away and will continue to be away, longer than expected).

I shall attempt to break back in on Sunday.

Yeah completely fair assessment mate. Tbh I only knew that Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and were similar in population. If there's a noticeable difference in the density then it may answer my question. I realise Sweden is a bit of an anomaly given their approach.

Guess not but it’ll be a cause if so many problems.
We were told the ventilation was bad though, and every window had to be opened. Not great when you have a neck/arm problem and have been in pain for 6 months. Waiting for a MRI scan now but it's been 4 weeks since referral and not heard anything yet.
I know it's not "urgent" as it's probably just a nerve blockage (as the doc at hospital said) but I'm in pain all the time now :-(
