Is the level of people ignoring the rules generally that bad??

I see lots of posts on here commenting about selfish bastards that simply refuse to obey the rules.

Where I live I see hardly any failures to observe the rules

Is it really that bad?
Im afraid it is.
Scottish Police breaking up 100 house parties per week
Anti Covid protestors
Ignorance in nearly every Supermarket we have been in
Gangs of kids roaming around housing estates nearby
etc etc

We've needed that for 8 months, we need different people from different age/peer groups giving out the advice to those who look up to them, not ministers or scientists.
Should be cross party, coalition if you like. i dont really care how its done but this government dont have the credibility on their own. they are just too arrogant to realise.

Is that you Mr Nolan?

The reason why we are in this position is because our tracking and tracing measures at the local level are non-existent.
Even the German Track and Trace system seems to have broken according to Merkel, they were praised for it through much of the year, and it's more "local" than ours can be (without a major rethink here), but she's admitted it's not working, with current case numbers, I'd say it's pretty impossible to fix ours, and even if it had been perfect, it would have been falling apart by now.

Has it really come to free mobiles with training? Fuck me we are desperate. No one appears to have a solution so just do a personal risk assessment and get on with your lives. Also cross your fingers, pray to your God and keep a rabbit's foot in your pocket.

You are fortunate you work for an employer who is allowing this. Ours is starting to put a bit of pressure on but without saying we have to go back. I’ve been going in as I like it better than working from home but some others have stayed away. They are the ones being spoken about at management meetings. I’m sure there are other companies where this is happening too as I see full car parks on some office blocks and empty at others on our business park.

I am fortunate as my employer would rather we did not go in. No pressure at all, organisation wide, at least. Of course, it may be different with the odd team here and there.

Is there a reason why your employer wants people back? Does it affect the business? A lack of trust?

I have a suspicion in some organisations, the management don't like it as they think staff may be slacking. I have little sympathy. Managers are paid to manage. They should manage the situation, including the performance management off staff. I work closely with my HR Director and Chief Exec. I know they are aware some managers think a few of their staff are slacking. However, the view of the Chief Exec and HR Director is that they think those managers feel that way because they are incompetent and unable to deal with situation. I agree wholeheartedly.

My point wasn't interested in politics, it was about who is giving out the message, ministers/opposition/scientists are of no interest to the vast majority of people, so get people who are of interest to give the message out, people might listen to them.

Ive been saying this since the start. Your average teenager isn’t going to watch the News, many won’t even know what time it’s on, some never watch tele and live their lives on their phones or games consoles.

Role models for these people need to be bashing out comments on social media every day to get through to them.

Incorrect or non-wearing of masks, not sanitising hands, and people clearly breaking house visiting rules is rife where I live

Of course it requires detail. Locking someone up for 24hrs a day would be shielding, but we both know that isnt acceptable, so put some meat on the bone
You don't have to lock people up, you just have to make sure they only socialise with those in their bubble or those that are virus free. Shopping should be delivered. They are not going to be able to enjoy the freedoms they had like going to the pub etc. I actually know 3 people who are doing this already as they are vulnerable, why cant all vulnerable people do this. yes or no would you be in favour?

Politics aside, the Labour party did just that in the 2017 election. I know they didn't win but that kind of targeted messaging got the youth onside. The Tory campaign in this area was woeful, and it seems they are no better now at it.

On that basis, no

I agree, Doesn't bother me who it is , get Rylan on it hes on everything else! Stormzy, Liam Gallagher, Religious leaders, David Attenborough? But sadly you are going to have to involve the self centered politicians somewhere, they wont allow them selves to be left out.

I think we’ll do the same once the November resit exams have finished, so that numbers are lower so we can have a proper Christmas
My daughter is self isolating for two weeks for the second time this term! Her education in her final GCSE year has been ruined by this virus and this utterly incompetent government.
