We are pretty remote, our binmen do a great job.. Contrary to government guidelines they all sit together in the cab , touch bins etc all without PPE some people would even pick up the post without wearing.. So I think at the very least they deserve a pat on the back.

No mate. A vaccine works by making your body make antibodies. Same as having had it and therefore the issue is that if one can get it again (despite having had it and despite your body having antibodies) then a vaccine wouldn’t work.

It seems to be under 40s mainly that don't produce enough antibodies to gain immunity. It could be that a vaccine does still work for the more vulnerable/older. Given that the vast majority under 40 are usually okay, though risky, we may have to just accept an approach that basically says 'fingers crossed'? Vaccinate everyone. Know some u40s will get it, but hope that they survive (and rely on any advancements in treatments to save them - the promising anti viral trials etc). The infection rate will rapidly fall too still if most are protected by the vaccine.

It might still be worthwhile if it mitigates the symptoms when people are infeced / re-infected.

Well maybe not a pat on the back as that would be contrary to govt guidelines as well:)

In addition, I bet the bin men are working extra hours/days because of a lack of staff wether through child care issues, colleagues off sick etc

On a separate note, given the bin men are over stretched, I wish they’d open the tip
Tips (recycling centres!) were closed because people were spending their extra time clearing out garages and taking it to the tip.

There is that but given the changes in bin collection that maybe a better alternative than people dumping their stuff anywhere. Never mind the potential fire hazard of having extra garden waste lying around

If this is true it should not be happening. We can train our own people to pick fruit. We have a minimum wage structure in place. If it adds a few pence to fruit the government should subsidise it.
No risk of outside infections.
British people back to work.
No brainer

One of the biggest barriers is accommodation on those wages, agencies and farmers take money off seasonal workers to pay for lodgings etc because many times they are needed on site and the site is off the beaten track.

That's why they import cheap labour.
