Doves

The old petrol station that makes a brief appearance in Kingdom of Rust was across the road from my house, and was sadly pulled down a few years ago, feel as though my tenuous link to the band has gone, but great to see them back!
 
Not had a chance to properly listen to the new album yet to pass judgement but first impressions are good and I love, love, love Carousels.

Got tickets to see them at Barrowlands next year as long as things are a bit more normal, can't wait.

Saw them a couple of times on the Kingdom of Rust tour and they were excellent although they dropped Cedar Room from their set, apparently they were tired of playing it every gig for years. Hopefully they'll set that right at the Barras, eh lads?

Just announced two more gigs next June.

One at the Piece Hall in Halifax, and one at Delamere Forest (Cheshire).

Hopefully Covid has well and truly f***ed off by then.
 
I'v had the universal want for a few weeks now
played it,well forced myself to listen to it
up to 10 times now and im stunned
it is just awful whinging dire crap
Iv loved them for years and cant believe
they waited 10 plus years to put this out
very surprised with this latest offering

I’m a big fan of the Doves but I feel the same about the new album . Tried forcing myself to
Persevere with it but I’m not feeling it. A couple of half decent tracks such as Cycle of Hurt and Cathedrals of the mind but they’re not classics . Good live though

Got tickets for Delamere forest on the Saturday and for Keane (girlfriend likes them) on the Friday... booked a cottage down the road for the 2 nights, fingers crossed these don’t get cancelled.
