Jack Grealish

That Silva and Walker reference there reminded me of this goal - geriatric Totti taking Kompany for a walk then exposing and neutralising his dependence on physicality with clever movement.

Grealish is exactly what we need in the advanced midfield area/final third; we require pace at the base of it to neutralise counters, but since Silva’s decline then departure we lack someone who can operate in small spaces with close control at a walking pace, and add an element of artistry to the perpetual full-pelt intensity of Foden, Sterling, and De Bruyne.

David Silva replacement?
Grealish over Aouar?

Swap Mahrez with Grealish?

His character is no worse than most of the multi millionaire 20 somethings plying their trade in the Prem week in week out.
True. I always hear stories about his character but when he first came on the scene Spurs aggressively pursued him and he kept quiet about it and didn't force a move. That bodes well now at 25

You've just bumped it......lol.

Anyway, while you're here and making a mild contribution......what is it that you don't rate about Grealish?
I dont think Grealish would have that big an impact for us as some would have us believe. He is one of those players that always seems best suited to being in an underdog team, a team that has to scrap for points, a big fish in a small pond. At City he wont be the star attraction, he would be a player that was in the City team as and when required as opposed to first name on Villas team sheet. Given time he would acquire the FFS mantle from Mahrez .

Fair enough, but i don't see him as anything like a Mahrez character.

He has far more presence and character about him,he makes things happen and he inspires,he's also very much a team player.I also think his quality and industry would see him used far more than you suggest.

I don't see it ever materialising though,unfortunately.

He will move somewhere next summer, as you say it wont be to us, i am happy with that,.Yourself not so much lol!! Its funny that sometimes we can all see a player that we all agree that we want, and other times a player divides our opinions so heavily.

Sometimes we do have to scrap for points, look at the last 10mins of the Villa game against Southampton. If we got that against Leeds or West Ham we might have won. Instead we have greedy gonzalez Mahrez just trying to boost his own ego.

Most overrated player in the premier league along with that lad who plays in midfield for the rags with the fancy trims

You can't have watched either player because you've managed to compare a bloke who turns up for every training session and every game (a work horse) with a shit-show who turns up for 20 minutes every now and then (a show pony).

Regardless of whether you love or hate his haircut and / or tight shorts, Grealish most certainly isn't overrated.

Nonsense.

He works his nuts off for 90 mins and is a game changer. He almost single handedly turned around a 4 -0 deficit yesterday,if you weren't aware.

Grealish is amongst the most talented English players in a long while,he'd be an asset to any Prem team.

Not sure about wether he would be good for us but Villa's bubble seems to have burst and I think they might be in deep shit by January. Could see him moving somewhere then if that's the case.

Nah,they played well yesterday, had the lions share, particularly second half, and were good for at least the point. They'll be fine.

As for Grealish, well i expect his ambition will soon kick in and the signing of that new contract was,IMO,to look after Villa when it does.
