Received an email today from my CLP saying that were not allowed to send any motions with regards to Corbyn or questioning the EHRC report.

You can still send them mate, but you will be lobbed out of the party for AS or failing to denounce Corbyn. Democracy in action....

As is proving by the disgraceful NEC elections.

I really am at a loss for words. Luke fucking Akehurst the Arch Blairite and total **** somehow got elected to the NEC whilst votes of left wing members were systematically removed from the ballot. Keith is more Stalin than Starmer. No doubt the liberal media will be cheering Starmer from the rooftops as he has removed Socialism from the Labour Party, I am starting to hate him almost as much as i hate Johnson. Meanwhile there is a love fest from the FBFE pro EU extremists who envisage a future where Starmer takes them back into their neo liberal wonderland. And just to top it all off one of the people elected to the youth wing NEC is an anti semite, but its OK because he is a right wing Starmer lover boy.

At the last NEC elections 293.000 members voted with 214 declared invalid.

Under Keith, 135.000 members voted with 6.000 declared invalid.

Interpret that as you wish, but it says to me over half the former membership has left or is disengaged and those who stayed had a far greater risk of having their ballots declared invalid.

It is estimated Labour have lost around 160,000 members since Starmer took over, its OK though his corporate donors will bankroll the party now and members are superflous to the parties needs.

Akehurst got on because of the way the ballot was listed, many who vote are not very interested if honest and just tick names to stop getting pestering emails and so stragetically putting him first on the ballot will have had him ticked without a thought of what an absolute **** he is.


I must admit I wasn't gonna bother voting in it at first and in the end did the left wing and socialist candidates, though I struggled to vote pidcock, like burgeon more harmful to the cause than helpful, not that the blinked socialist faction still whining about corbyn can see it.


Anyway more trouble for Starmer with LMN poll saying it's members have no confidence in the present leadership tackling islamaphobia and prejudice against muslim members, some citing they feel they will be targeted and punished for any support of their fellow muslims and others suffering in palestine

6000 votes declared invalid?

Presumably "some former members who had resigned from the party had still voted electronically, so a time-consuming process had to be put in place through independent scrutineers to eliminate those votes. Some on the Left felt this was an attempt to suppress their vote".

The Socialist Workers, Communists, Galloway’s latest lot and all the other fringe factions on the far left will be getting their members back and Labour will be returning to being electable. It’s win win.

Despite Rascal's rant, Momentum candidates won the NEC election (five of nine seats under PR and would presumably have won all nine under FTPT). I think that's probably because Momentum turnout was higher than middle of road let alone "Blairite" turnout, as with all the resignations they are not a majority of members.

It wasn't a rant, it was a fact. I was quite reserved and didn't post what i really thought as the left has been effectively shut down from the debate.

And you still go on and on about momentum. I left momentum pretty soon after signing up as they were not for me at all, far too right wing.

and as much as @west didsblue thinks it makes Labour more electable, i don't see it. I believe the party has to split as the differences are too large and the whole party is toxic. A Labour party with Akehurst on the NEC is not a party that will be fit to govern, he despises the left. I don't even know why he is even in the party and good Socialists are being driven out

I saw a study into how listings work and those at the top do gain from bias.

I couldnt vote as i left ages ago, but the issue is i believe with the ones who had already voted and then resigned over the removal of Corbyn from the party, They were members when they voted and their subs run for 12 months so the votes should have been counted but were removed.

Starmer has a real shit show on his hands now, one of his own making as well. He broke his promises about unity and party is losing members, maybe that is what he wanted all along, or maybe that is what his wealthy donors wanted. A mass movement is not easy to control, a smaller political party is more open to influence from donors as the party needs the money to campaign.

The party is already in the process of splitting. What will remain is a smaller centre left movement that enough of the non-political electorate will see as representing their views and hence will secure their vote. A larger Labour Party encompassing the full range of Labour factions will appeal to far less of the electorate. Those on the Labour left who hate Blair to a man need to realise that he led the most successful government in the last 50 years.

How many members do you think it needs?
Should it cut ties with the unions too so not forced to accept non centrist policies?
Who should fund it a smaller niche party, as members and unions have always been the main source of money?
Who will doorstep and campaign, labour has always relied on its vast network of campaigners willing to go out and leaflet, and door step campaign most of whom will usually lean to the left of the party.
