Spurs (A) - Post-Match Thread

Tough defeat to take but I have reconciled myself were in a period of transition and I am not sure whether the problems will take weeks/months/years to rectify.

it has been such a fantastic period, these last couple of years, it was inevitable maintaining those standards was going to be a very tough ask.

Losing the spine of the side, Zabba, Yaya, Silva, Kompany has finally, coupled with a bit of poor recruitment, has caught up with us. We need new leaders to come to the fore, other players to develop and the side to evolve once again.

I have seen enough to know Torres and Dias will prove to be great buys and coupled with the likes of De Bruyne, Laporte, Foden, Sterling the nucleus is there for another period of success. Were not a million miles away, just need a tweak here and there

A few worrying signs, that if we're honest, began to surface last season.

We can blame Mahrez, but the problems remain when he doesn't play.
Ditto the traditional scapegoat Gundogen, who wasn't even there today
Whatever happened to the reverse pass to the overlapping full back?
Why have we bought Torres when we.already had Sterling who plays a similar.style?
Why are we hoping that Aguero will hit the ground running and convert all those chances that he started.missing last season?
In truth, we've gone stale, and this is going to take 18 months to get going again.

Guys it's not funny any more, when I was writing earlier about his constant moaning I couldn't even have imagined that it would follow:

Kevin De Bruyne: “I'm not surprised. We had about seven days of pre-season, I played with my national team after one training session. What do people expect of us?!”

WTF is that ? So we can finish this season and blame everything to pre-season ? Only City players had such difficulties ?

This kind of attitude effects other players, especially young ones..

Someone at the Club should tell hime to stop talking about this and be a leader his Captain armband obliges him to be..

Just a reminder that even though he was injured for whole fucking season - City won a title marathon in 18/19 and haven't seen players moaning about his absence.

WTF fuck is that, is he out of his mind or what is happenning..
I was pretty disappointed with those comments from the captain. Agree we miss a “no excuses” attitude, one that Kompany absolutely had.

We’ve played three sides “better” than we are in eight matches. The other is Chelsea. That means only five matches against those sides in the next 30 Prem fixtures. I hope we can revive ourselves against some weaker opposition. But I’m afraid everyone will play the same way against us and we won’t get the points we need. The other side doesn’t need to be as talented as we are to have success if we can’t take our chances — more of them, and, failing that, EARLIER, to make the box-packers come out of their shells.

We’ve got problems regardless of what happens in the next two games.
Exactly. Even if we win comfortably against these 2, it will be like sticking a plaster on a gunshot wound.

8 games in now and we are yet to see anything that resembles a team that can blow teams away or even at least look comfortable during games.

If people like you were made to manage our club, we would get relegated considering you are the absolute definition of a happy clapper and would just not bother with things that are wrong now with our team. Come to think of it, this is how the trumpers behave too.
Trumper?
That's a pretty big leap as I don't think that I have denied things aren't happening .
The team probably would get relegated if I managed it but then again I have never claimed that I have the ability to do that. But I have watched this club for 45 years and I know that this team is nowhere near as bad as some of the football I have seen in that time.

The carnage is back On.

Anyways now I understand when Kun said "Vinnie, don't shoot!" As chuffed I was for Pep's contracts, today's shower made me think if it is actually forbidden to shoot on goal. Bernardo, Mahrez, even Jesus and Ferran avoided trying shooting even with the goal on sight. As Salieri would've said to the Habsburg bloke on Mozart's boss duties after a gig: "too many notes" too many touches.

Come on Pep! sort it out, please; if not for the Pep Out arsewipes are unbearable reaching dipper **** proportions..
We did get 22 shots though, and for many of them I thought we should have passed.
i think all this comes down to the fact that we are mentally and physically knackered with no preseason and no proper summer break. Most teams who finished late that season are currently struggling to find best form, including the machine Bayern
