A quick question. Are the supporters that are allowed in stadiums this weekend required to wear masks. Just a question as I really don’t know. I did try to ask on the match’s at thread but it was like asking a chimp to split the atom. Ta.
Yes

For Andyhinch. Cheshire East 47 cases - down from 61. Total cases 9343. Pop score up 12 to 3432. Weekly Pop down 5 from 118 to 113.

Germany had 22000 infections yesterday and 480 deaths, it doesn’t look like they have reached a peak neither. Cold weather is kicking in over Europe so I wonder if this will drive it with people being indoors and also perfect temperatures for bacteria to spread. Lockdown hit coming into the spring and there was some good weather across Europe back then which I guess would help getting people out doors and natural vitamin D.

I do wonder if covid fatigue is setting in with people and wonder if some populations are thinking bollocks to it and doing what they want 10 months into a pandemic. People took it seriously back in March but now there’s people out there thinking they are indestructible, look at America it’s horrific Biden will have his work cut out changing peoples attitude to covid in January.
I'm not sure cold is too bad.
Damp and wet normally drive flu to huge levels in the UK
That said high pressure makes it cold and that means the virus will hang around in unventilated areas.

The anti vacc's are like flat earthers they make a racket on the internet,so peole think they are prevalent, in real life the vast majority people think they are nutters are ignore them.
Strangely enough many anti-vaxers also seem to be covidiots. Then there's another bunch (some crossover) who would consume a pill or a packet they bought in a pub and swallow it, or shoot up with it, then have a good night out but strangely have concerns about having a vaccine.

Big pharma is nothing like your local coke dealer. You can't sit down and have a pint with Pfizer, can you? Don't even know which team they support.

Surveys show that committed anti-vaxers total no more than 2% before Covid and similar number since the outbreak in the UK. So it's irrelevant if they get vaccinated to the bigger picture.

They've been at it in Town again today... get ready for another rise in the infection rates....and then another lockdown. Paul Boys is the cnut behind it all...check out his Youtube channel. Massive ego conspiracy theorist. Apparently he owns gyms around Greater Manchester.

Looks like two thirds of the boroughs are going the wrong way. 20 out of 32. Make of that what you will

It is hardly surprising as Manchester has been under much tougher restrictions for most of the last few months.

The rate of hospitalisation in London is 11.8 per 100,000, while in in the NW it is 17.6. I don't have the positive case data cross referenced by age and region but the figure I refer to above, suggests a higher proportion of the vulnerable are getting Covid19 up north.

It's very disappointing to hear that the amount of traffic in London has increased sharply in the last week and is close to the levels recorded to this time last year. Goodness knows why as there is supposed to be no household mixing indoors, most of us should be wfh and entrance to pubs, cafes, restaurants is restricted. Where the hell are these people going? I hope they put us in Tier 3.

For those who think Tier 2 is a party compared to Tier 3 it really is not. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants where I am. Some have not re-opened and those that are operational appear empty or near empty. There is barely any difference to the lockdown from my perspective.

Working from home tommorow for only about the third day this year. Several had it In The office last week so having an office circuit break so to speak.

Hopefully I'll have one of these in my wallet soon....

Gove suggested that this isn't being used as an "immunity passport". However Zahawi mentioned it's likely pubs, restaurants and other entertainment venues may request as proof. Pretty shit for those who are at the back of the queue..

morning, i know this is a covid thread so this might not be quite so relevant but as deaths caused by and attributed to covid passed 1.5 million globally recently, it now sits in the same realm as TB as a global annual killer, also a respiratory illness. TB kills ca. 1.5 million people a year, particularly in SE Asia and parts of Africa.

As we look to a more hopeful 2021, with a multitude of covid vaccines, remember that only one TB vaccine has ever been created, BCG. We are lucky in the western world that we have moved so fast on covid. Spare a thought today for 10 seconds to think what could be done in the world if we looked out for each and every one of us.

anyway, that's it, back to arguing about tiered lockdowns :)

Just noticed that the government are setting up various mass vaccination centres - the Etihad Campus being one of them. To me, it seems a risky move to get thousands of people together in one place. I'm looking forward to getting the vaccine (although there will be about 23 million people ahead of me in the queue), but I hope the government have thought of a good plan to prevent mass COVID outbreaks whilst people are queuing.
