COVID-19 — Coronavirus

The UK has over years, decades, posted seasonal flu casualties of 17k per month. This is minus other cold, virus infections that happen every year without the "news" being "on it" so much. I would like to know right now the true figure or who exactly died of Covid today and who exactly died of Flu, cold or other virus. I do honestly think the figures are distorted and ticked as Covid.

My understanding is that it is just used to alert you if you have been near someone who has it,confirmed to have it I am not sure,or just symptoms,i don't know till I see it,you can then get a test to see if you have caught it and so on
Can you turn off Wi-Fi so they can't track you if that is your worry? I am going to have to look into it more, you have got me thinking now

well it's unclear, but evidently if you have to sign up with a bunch of personal data and it's tracking who you've been in contact with then it's gathering a certain level of data.

An ambulance service manager said much the same to me today. She reckons lots of deaths caused by respiratory illness are being chalked up to Covid-19; also that flu cases are corrrespondingly down. Her belief is that Covid is being exaggerated.

I’m not saying I agree with her by the way. I haven’t been following the stats.

According to an analysis of ONS stats, deaths in 2020 are up by 45,000 compared to the 5 year average with practically all the extra deaths in April. If anything the 28,500 attributed to Covid 19 are understated. There were no significant deviations from the 5 year average before the last week of March so those that think they had it over Christmas are almost certainly mistaken and have confused it with other less lethal viruses.
