Feelings towards the current side

We are in 9th spot in the League. We have played 5 of the teams above us and have three draws, two losses and no wins.
of the 6 games played against teams below us, we have one draw and five wins.

that Is not title winning form. Top 4 will be a fight if we don’t start scoring soon.

Apathy tinged with confusion. The team out there play in sky blue, a lot of the faces are familiar, Pep Guardiola is still on the touchline but it's like I've woken up in a parallel universe, where I'm being shown the less talented versions of the originals. De Bruyne, Dias, Stones on current form, maybe Walker, Aguero when fit, there isn't one player I would be upset if they left.

Just said it in the Mahrez thread as well; but what I’d give to have a 26 year old Kolarov, Nasri and Dzeko in this team.

Once again in the crucial "Big 6 head to head" league we're going to come up well short.

The Manager has shot his bolt here. The performances are mediocre in the main and have been for some time. We needed a striker, have done for a couple of seasons , weren't even looking for one. Recruitment has been dire.
The left back situation is unforgivable. Mendy and Zinchenko should be long gone with Angelino + a new recruit fighting it out at LB should be what we’re seeing this season

We're three months into the season and well in the hunt for the title
Next four games, West Brom, Southampton, Newcastle, Everton
I'll start panicking if we don't take ten points from those games

Our defence is sorted. We have to start taking our chances and in these four matches we can be more expansive. One defensive midfielder with two attacking partners

Some try to dress up the recruitment by pointed to the summer of 2017. Just shows how utterly shite it has been.

Well we've dipped from the 100 points a season but you are going way too far. That was a super-human side.
That was rat boys point, and as much as it pains me to agree he is right. That team has gone (at last we have some istory).

we should be readjusting our judgements as we all know Sterling Mahrez Mendy Gundogen and possibly Rodri are here to stay for at least this season, if Pep wins a top 4 with these mercenaries then he will have rescued at least himself from the BM hanging committee

the worst thing about us now is our targets are no higher than the Rags

We need to score more goals.

In our last two title winning seasons we averaged in 18/19, 2.5 goals per game, conceding 0.61 goals per game.

In 17/18, 2.79 goals scored per game. 0.71 conceded per game.

Livarpool last season when they finally won the title scored 2.4 goals per game, conceding 0.87 goals per game.

This season we are scoring 1.55 goals per game conceding 1 goal per game. Our defense has really improved recently, we are creating plenty of chances. They just need to be converted.

Pep has managed the back 4 wonderfully. Make a mistake you lose your place. Play well and you continue. The job of the front 3 is to score goals. Pep needs to do the same with attackers. Mahrez and Sterling back to the bench after their performance in the derby. Give Torres/Bernardo/Foden a chance next on Tuesday.

FFP has done it's job. it was invented to stop us in our tracks and it has. also allowing others to catch up. bent as fuck. good news is we fucked them off and we'll be back . no way Pep extends without assurances of recruitment .
Curious how FFP forced us to spend £60m on Mahrez or £60m on Rodri? Sadly some of our big transfers have been shocking. £120m there, Torres was £21m and is better than Mahrez, probably could have signed someone equal or better to Rodri for £20m-£30m. Weigl cost £17m for Benfica this year and we’d been monitoring him. We’ve overspent.

I feel like we’ve built a solid 3rd-6th placed Prem team with money that should have built us a title winning side.

Once Kun and Fernandinho are completely gone and de Bruyne won’t be far behind, if we keep buying players of the standard of Cancelo Rodri Mahrez etc we will just be a Top4 filler club or end up a Europe League club, playing on fucking Sundays every week.

We are seriously no longer that record breaking side of 2017 to 2019. Us being that good is a memory now.

In terms of how I feel personally about the players. I don’t feel the same affinity to the side anymore neither. Maybe I need to change my outlook on how I look at the players? They’re not going to make me love them for winning us the league anymore so I’ll have to drop my expectations.

But look at Cancelo - despite his vast improvement - him throwing his arms in the air and moaning at Dias for passing to him in the first half yesterday (if you don’t want passing to, kindly fuck off pal!) and his stupid pretending to be injured bollocks he does as well as things like when he tripped up that Oxford player last season... I don’t really like him. He’s not my sort of player. Zabaleta he is not!

I don’t feel the same about this side as I have previous City teams. There are too many players who aren’t my sort of player, or just aren’t good enough for where we really want to be.

Although, I am loving Stones being back in the side and really like the look of Dias. But looking back at the Mancini team and the side of 2017-18, I loved pretty much all of them! We were spoilt and I wish I’d appreciated it more at the time!

100%. Sterling & Mahrez have been poor for weeks, with the exception of the FFS Hat-trick against Burnley. Raz needs to get back to what he's good at - terrorising defences.

Our defence is sorted now, I wouldn't swap Dias, Walker or Stones for any other defenders, and Laporte, Ake and Cancelo are pretty good too.

What is lacking is a proper aggressive, energetic defensive midfielder and a direct tricky winger with searing pace, and a prolific centre forward.

We spent a combined £122.8m on Rodri and Mahrez. We have had the chances to buy many other players for around the same price or maybe around £70m and have pulled out, despite having £500m+ profits.

Theres no way you can compare football back then to now. Summerbee and Best were very close friends going on holidays ect Nearly every single football match now is kissing and hugging before kick off and having a laugh after it. Plus they carry on like that on the pitch too not even putting a tackle in on one another.
