Toothless and some players showing no desire and a team going through the motions , if it wasnt for our rejuvenated defence we would be really struggling , we need someone or something to put the zest back into this squad of players

None of the above are city players - they dont seem and never have seemed connected to the club yet are regular 1st teamers who go throught e motions, have far more bad days than good and simply dont add much to the first team

Plus the loss of Kompany, D.SIlva and the injury to Kun and Ferna playing a bit part role.

We have a major rebuild ahead but we seem to be trying to do it one or two at a time - I know we cant go back tot the days of Bobby Manc signing 5 in one go but we havent had a decent left back the whole time Pep has been here and that is inexcusable.

The frightening thing is that we are going to have to replace Kun and Ferna (Rodri isnt good enough) and our recent purchases do not fill me with any confidence....Mahrez, Rodri both are extremely poor, Cancello is a bit hit and miss and Torres even after a bright start still has a long way to go (though does look promising) - even Laporte is out of favour at present.

Imnot convinced we will be back at the top any time soon

It's the same thing over and over again.

The following players have not played well for the last 12 months but, as they are part of the squad, feature regularly:

Mahrez
Mendy

Not good enough for us:
Garcia
Zinchenko
Gundog
Jesus

Can't be relied on:
Aguero
Fernandinho

Jury still out on:
Stones (only based on recent performances)
Rodders

So we are left with a core of players who could perform week in week out but rotation is obviously over consistency.

Playing players on the opposite wing pisses me right off.

Two holding midfielders every fucking game.

No point with the EDS, might as well scrap it. Extending young players contracts by 3 or 4 years is pointless when you know their next first team appearance is going to be round three of next year's league cup. Some people moan about burn out of young players. By the time Foden gets a regular start he'll probably be 23 if he's not fucked off elsewhere, and play for 10 years. What's the difference between taking an 18 year old and burning them out at 28. We need creativity in the midfield now.

I'll shut the fuck up for a bit now and read the barrage of abuse in a couple of days.

Anyway, don't worry, it's not like we've got another two and a half years of this shit to put up with!

Agree with lots of this and thanks for saying it. I just hope Pep is dissatisfied with the way we are playing. I’m glad he doesn’t come out and moan about the players but I hope behind the scenes he is unhappy. If he genuinely believed some of the stuff he is saying, and nothing else, then that would be very worrying.
I think two things can be true at once:
1. The players and the staff are trying hard
2. It’s not good enough.

Agree that there is no lack of effort in the side. The workrate is excellent but we are just not clicking. I believe we will get there with this new team. We probably do need a new striker for this formation to work fully and I'm sure Pep knows this. Re-building teams quickly is not an easy process. If it was everyone would do it with instant success all the time. It's not just about money either. Look at the current state of Real Madrid and United for starters.

It's not the buzz I used to have thats for sure. I couldnt wait to see us play every saturday, you was always going to be entertained and watch a goal fest. I'm grateful I witnessed such greatness. Today, I still like to watch us but I can go to the loo now or go make a brew because I know I'm not going to miss anything exciting. A big disappointment for me is to watch a world class player like Kev playing with frustration over his fellow team mates. He deserves so much better.

Ederson - Amazing
Steffan - not seen much but would like a quality back up to push Ederson. United having had Romero as a very competent cup ‘keeper has always been the standard for me.

Walker and Cancelo - Amazing. Stop playing Cancelo at LB for fucks sake.

Dias, Laporte, Stones and Ake - Amazing

Mendy - dog shit. Zinchenko - should have gone in the Summer. I don’t care what the experts of Bluemoon or even Pep say; WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT ANGELINO.

Holding mid
Rodri - had enough time but not proving himself. Hate to write him off but not looking good. Good enough as a back up 6 when Fernandinho goes.
Fernandinho - good enough as a back up for this season.
Gundogan - shit as an attacking mid, great as a solo holding mid. Shame he has a preference for the 8 role and Pep allows him to dictate where he plays.

Attacking mid
Kev - fucking ace
Phil - fucking ace
Bernardo - currently shit, but even when he’s shit he works hard. Would stick by him through thick and thin. He’ll come good, fuck the media for what they did to him and haven’t done to Cavani for the same shit.

Attack
Mahrez - absolutely shit. Best thing he’s done was that goal vs Brighton and that’s it. Flat track bully? He rarely bullies even the shit teams to be honest. Shadow of his Leicester self. Bottler in big games, doesn’t track back. Absolute gash and a huge Pep blind spot.
Sterling - an actual flat track bully. Needs 5 piss easy chances to get 1 goal. Tell me the last time he scored the decisive goal vs United, Liverpool, Arse, Chelsea or Spurs. I can’t remember him ever doing so. Great player when we are walloping the minows but shockingly wasteful.
Aguero - the greatest.
Jesus - like Bernardo, works his fucking bollocks off so easier to forgive him if he has a bad game. Great touches, can score goals and sometimes scores in big games. I like him.
Ferran - looks the dog’s bollocks and better than Mahrez by a million miles already.

Imbalanced squad. Amazing defence but not a single competent left back. Pep persisting in ignoring Foden. Mahrez getting a pass every week and Sterling playing even when he’s out of form. All a bit baffling.

This is a good debate. The reason you feel disconnected to the squad can be put down to a few issues:

(A)The players are not as good as the legends.
(B) The players personality and achievements to date are poor.

We have got so used to winning with our favourite players over the last decade. We Broke records and took down banners. It is no surprise that now we feel disconnected. The new players seem soft and have not lived up to the very high expectations set.

Throw in some poor performances over the last 18 months.Var and covid have also played its part.

To sum up: The new recruits are not as good as the previous bunch of players. The players like Sterling, Kev are massively underperforming. Peps attitude has also to be questioned tho in fairness he had made us harder to beat which shows his willingness to change and also that he knows we are having issues in attack.

The clubs approach to purchases have been hit and miss. For every Dias you have a Mahrez.

All involved need to do better. Maybe change the players we target and start to buy a few world class players instead of buying players that may reach the top but as we have seen now may also not get any better.

We pride ourselves on buying potential but forgot that they also have the potential to be shit. Tier 1 signings needed no more trying to appease FFP and the cartel. Stop fucking about and go buy what is needed.
