If infections are high somewhere then it's because (mainly) that people aren't following regulations. I couldn't give a shit where they're from. If they're not following the regulations then they're twats.

I didn't say that anyone deserved to die from the virus. I said if anyone did die I'd rather it was one of the selfish arseholes who insisted on gathering together than someone who was being less of a selfish arsehole and being careful.
So what you’re saying is that us northerners are now following the regs more than you southerners. Thanks for the clarification

If you look at the arrivals board for Manchester Piccadilly this morning, three trains are arriving from London Euston this morning before half 9. Surely basic things like stopping public transport to the rest of the country outside of tier 4 is the first thing you would do, are we having before or after Christmas Day tier 4 will be imposed on the rest of the U.K?

Because they are terrified of telling people not to have Christmas. They would rather the infection goes out of control than tell people just for one Christmas not to travel all over the fucking country. We will all be paying for this decision in the new year when we are all locked up until Summer.

I just don't understand how they could get this so wrong. We are an island nation. If any fucking country should be able to contain a pandemic it's one that is surrounded on all sides by fucking water.

This government hasn't got a fucking clue what it's doing. It needs to act tough on this latest strain and announce another national lock down. Fuck all this tier bollocks that just confuses everyone and has been proven to not work. National lock down, get as many people as possible vaccinated before it mutates again and makes the vaccine worthless.
I honestly don’t see the point in any lockdown if we’re unwilling to stop travel. Good news is it looks like foreign governments are now doing the job for us and stopping us from leaving.

Well, it looks that way currently.

By the way, I'm not a Southerner. I'm a Midlander. I'm therefore a well balanced individual as I don't have a superiority complex like Southerners do or a chip on the shoulder like Northerners do :-)

The part you are missing out, and that thwarts your very simple (and effective plan) is that in under 10 days we will no longer be in the EU, or governed by their rules. This has all come at a very bad time and I think some of the European countries imposing bans, are doing so not just for health reasons, but also lots politician ones too.
Bollocks

Southerner? He lives in Tamworth, Staffs ffs!
It’s south of Macc. That’s good enough for me ;)

Either way, his argument several weeks ago was utterly flawed. The huge spike in northern cases was as much to do with students returning to uni than anything else as borne out by the figures for Manchester as it was to do with native northerners not following the rules as much as people in other parts of the country.

When the health Secretary in charge of making sure we control the virus and has been throughout says.

the virus is out of control.

Its time for the him to go.

he looks like he is dead behind the eyes .
I actually think (for a member of this government) he’s relatively benign, but he’s clearly not up to the job, which tbf, would have taken its toll on anyone.

People have been recalcitrant everywhere, mate.

Illegal immigrants?
If an immigrant brought it with them then you might expect to see Covid surgng in Calais or their host country. It could have of course replicated and mutated inside an immigrant but more likely it occurred in the host of someone domestic to Kent.

Historically through this epidemic we haven't seen any significant clusters in Kent so I don't think immigrant transmission is a feature in the epidemic although authorised travel certainly is.

The UK’s coronavirus vaccination programme will not be affected by France’s ban on freight from the UK, transport secretary Grant Shapps said today.
He told Sky News that the disruption around the Channel ports in Kent “won’t have an impact” on the vaccine supply.
He said:
Been working around the m25/m42
All last week signposted delays at Dover/ Tunnel every day & night,
