Why are peopleso convinced we need a striker kuns fit again now and jesus is still here plus sterling or torres can play there if needed .i think in the summer maybe but we are covered this season.

We won't have enough goals in us with those you mentioned, mate. We can't score more than a goal per game in the league and that's been a consistent problem since the start. We'll be nowhere near the major honours come the end of the season if we continue like this.

There's always the possibility that Aguero will properly come back but a Cavani/Mandzukic option would give us if nothing else an option off the bench that could turn the 1-1 draws against Leeds, West Ham, West Brom or the dippers into a narrow win. These all add up at the season's end.

Is he fit? No disrespect to the greatest goal scorer to ever put on a sky blue shirt but every time he comes back from an extended injury (of which he sustains 2 a season of late) he does not come back fully and each time loses a step.

We do need a striker ASAP but we won’t get one till the summer but when you think about it Jesus one his day is good but he won’t get us nowhere near enough goals to win titles and kun is so crocked he might struggle rest of season to get going . As for Torres and sterling being this false 9 bullshit it’s fucking criminal that a club as big as us can’t even put a centre forward on the pitch for a game . We are not gonna win the title but we are now in a major battle to get top 4 .

In theory a returning Aguero plus a bit more fluidity throughout the rest of the team and you'd be fully spot on. I think people are wrongly attributing our issues atm on whoever's up front as opposed to elsewhere.

Yeah but it's been an issue even when we were winning games 5-0 in the title winning years with arguably the peak version of Aguero in the side. We had that problem with Mancini with Dzeko, Aguero, Balotelli, and Tevez. And then with Pellegrini with Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic, and Negredo. It's just more transparent at the moment because we aren't generating chances in as high volume.

Also, it's not just the forward whoever that is that's missing them. It's everyone, which suggests the problem is on a deeper level.

Kun always needs 5/6 matches to get up to speed afters injury he’s been struggling for 7 months now after a injury that was meant to keep him out for 2 months , his body is giving up on him unfortunately

You could play harry kane up top and he would struggle to find goals.We have tightened up at the back but the problem is we arent as creative .Bringing bernardo back in could be the slight tweak we needed not sure we can attribute all the blame at the forwards feet the way we have been setting up was partly to blame.

I would say in other seasons there were some players who used to make up for others.. Yes we are not as fluid as a system, as we used to be with David Silva but playing without a proper striker is also an issue. There is no excuses when players constantly miss 1v1 Vs goalkeepers.

True, but my point is that it's not specifically a personnel issue.

8% of chances converted says differently. It is all about getting the first goal, once that happens regularly and early in most of our games the infusion of confidence will improve many of our player’s strike rate.

The thing is you need a class consistent ever present striker to open the floodgates, we haven’t got one. We ain’t covered this season, but I agree it will probably happen in the summer.

How about this advice to the current crop?

1. Shoot on sight. That is, without a second thought and before the defender has the chance to block, and don't worry about Pep bollocking you for doing so.

2. Get your head and foot over the ball when you shoot ,so you don't balloon it into row Z all the time. It's not difficult.

3. Aim every header inside of either post, instead of straight at the keeper.

4. If we are going to try and put the ball in the box from a corner, aim for the back post. You never know, we might then get it past the front one!

Wouldn't want to make a complicated game sound easy though.

As much as we’ve ridiculed the rags for some of their short term signing upfront they’ve had a few that have worked out

Ibrahimovic will have been on stupid money but still banged them in, ighalo to be fair has popped up with goals and Cavani has scored important goals while also giving them a presence for defenders to think about.

I can see why we’d want to wait until the summer for our first choice centre forward but there have to be short term options out there because if Aguero continues to struggle for fitness we are in the shit big time.

If he were to return and hit form this might transform our season but on the balance of probabilities from were we stand now this does not seem likely. If Kun is not back and firing by mid January a replacement if only a stop gap will have to be brought in I would think.
